Forgot it was on this morning, got up for a Lotus/TVR run at 9
Suspect the run will be curtailed as it's lashing down!

Yep, Tut, I dragged myself out of bed for it!

Enough action to keep the interest.

Is it just me or was Button very "cool" with The Kettel from the moment they got into the ante-room?! A few words re: the start antics...then no acknowledgement by Button of the New Champion in the Press Conference?

Don't get me wrong, Button has been his usual highly professional self...just a case of what wasn't said, I felt. The squeeze at the start was maybe not illegal but perhaps JB felt it was not really very "sporting". Perhaps we'll see if they get him into the F1 Forum.

Excellent result for Button, IMHO, and Vettel deserves his 2nd champ.

Yeah I was up. Not the worst race but not the most exciting. Pleased at the result though

Buttons final remark was "Ok, so that's the way its going to be then" meaning watch out from now on.

He did actually give him a hug though when they came into the waiting room.

If that had been Hamilton or Schumacher the out come may have been somewhat different. Vettel knew Button was there so dirty rather than illegal. Same as last year the pack has caught Red Bull but to late to effect the outcome of the championship.
Here's hoping next season is a closer affair from the beginning. Constructors still to settle of course.

Good point. Would be interesting to see McLaren lift the Constructors' but somehow I don't think that's going to happen.

Was good to see him go for the best line for the first corner. He was in front and it was the line he was going to take, so not really the time or place for Button to try and pass him on the inside.

Easy to say from my massage chair, but they are 60 lap races and by the time three tyre changes and safety cars are taken into consideration, to risk being taken out on the first corner and ending your race, does not make any sense for a professional driver.

However it still happens in many races.

What is it they say. You can't win it in the first corner but you sure can lose it.

Once again Button keeps his head and wins the day. Clever chap.

Looking forward to the twinkly lights of Abu Dhabi now. (India and Korea are just minor distractions!)

Tut, if you watch the replay, there is no way that's the line ... not even on the first lap ... not even with you driving :-)

He looks across, sees Button and then squeezes him. I've nothing against that, BTW, provided the other driver is left with somewhere to go which Button was, just. However, anybody that starts on pole now has carte blanche to pull the same stunt and Button's words in the lounge imply that he now thinks so too :-)

Cheers,
Robin

And as for Massa.....

How he has the audacity to claim anything wrong with Hamilton, when he was trying to come up the outside of Hamilton, off the racing line and was behind Lewis at the moment of impact I don't know.

I know Lewis is far from blameless in many cases, and today he did move left, but that one was 90% Massa.

Just watched the replay Robin, Vettel definitely takes the line that I would have done to stop anybody going through on the inside, nobody could have passed him on the outside, he was No1 on the front row, so if you try to pass him, then you are going to suffer. I reckon Button was fortunate to get away with it and only lose one place.

There has been a lot of talk that Vettel does not have the balls, but I reckon that showed that he was not going to compromise. However as I said, a driver should not risk taking himself out on the first corner, unless it is a Senna/Prost situation which determines the world championship, but even then I think it degrades the sport, winning is done by being the best driver on the track, not by the ability to drive into your opponent to take him out and finnish the race. That does not make you a real Champion, just a cheater keeping the sponsors happy.

Think Nuvolari, Fangio, Clark, Moss, Stewart, they had the ability to win because they were the best. Senna also was but things had changed, even more so with Schumacher.

Tut, I see what you're saying - that's the defensive line - I agree.
