Tosser

Hi All

Thought I would share this with you.
A guy dropped an exhaust manafold into the workshop on monday to be skimmed, as it was warped.
I took his number, and told him I would call when it was ready, perhaps the next day, but we were busy, so would try to fit it in.
He came back the next day, I told him it wasnt done yet, but would do it on wed,and phone him when it was ready.
I was held up yesterday, so never got it done, so went to give it to one of the guys this morning to do at abot 9.20, it wasnt there????

I thought he had came in ,and spoken to one of the other guys, and taken it away.

He phoned at 4.30 this afternoon, to ask if I had done it, and i said to him that I thought he had already taken it away, he said no.i told him I would have a look, and phone him back.
I then turned the workshop upside down looking for it, even took a spade out to look in the bin, just in case, and went over to the garage to ask them to check there CCTV cameras, but the boss wasnt in.

I called him back, and told him that i needed to see the cctv from the garage before i could tell him what was going on, I was sure he was at it, and winding me up by this point.
He then said that he took it this morning, and that , as I had "mucked him about " he had just "mucked me about", what a pr**k, I then lost the head at him on the phone, as I had just wasted 40mins looking for it.

Question is , what do i do now, by law , can he remove goods from my workshop, even though they are his?
If I hadnt told him there was CCTV, would he have owned up??

Answers on a postcard please.

That's certainly a strange way for the guy to deal with his grievance.

FWIW, if I were you I'd just forget about it and put it down to experience... no damage done, eh?

It's his property so it isn't a theft...

I'd forget about it. If he brings it back in to be skimmed again, maybe you can forget about it for another day or two as well ;)

What a weirdo.......I guess it's best to just forget about it and put it down as one of lifes experiences. And if he does come back again, you charge him double!

Doesn't matter if it's wrong or right as regards his property but pricks like that should not be entering your premises without you. This modern world people expect things done immediately and can't wait.

Already going to that, cant be bothered with it really, i only do these things to help people, would only have charged him about £15 for it, and would have taken about 45min-hr, so no making any money of it.

Agree with all of the above, but it was just sooooo bizarre , i thought I would share it with you.

I called the guy who sent him in, and he is not happy with him, he told him what he he was going to do, and he told him not to, so I think he has burned him as well, he was going to call him and sort it out.

Cheers

I wasnt sure, as it was in my possession at the time, and he took it without my knowledge.
Not that I was going to do anything, life is to short.

Its just the fact that he sneeked in the door, took it and left, when he must have bee able to hear us talking in the workshop.

He made no attempt to let me know he was there.

Could have taken anything, and i do think if i had not mentioned the CCTV, he may have gone further with his wind up....

Lessons learnt .
