It may just be the best whisky I've ever tasted.

I don't know whether to thank Andrew for introducing me to Glendronach or curse him for the ever bigger hole in my finances :D
Excellent Tony, glad you like it, cash poor but whisky rich

A heads up for anyone in the Edinburgh area:

http://thewhiskystramash.com/ :drink

Most of the distilleries are represented and are more than happy to let you taste some very nice whisky - no hard sell.
There's a ticket offer on FB if interested (if you're not on fb, drop me a pm and I'll send you the code).

Warning - NLC. You will definitely not be sober when you leave!

9000 bottles, 4500 to friends of the classic malts. 80 sheets seems a bit steep for a NAS bottle. Did consider it though. For investment I could be wrong but don't see it as a massive performer and if I'm drinking then there are other whiskies I'd spend my money on, all personal opinion however. If you get one let me know what you think.

I won't be buying - peat isn't my idea of a good whisky.

Gents,

Looking for a bit of advice. I need to buy a Christmas present for a business contact by way of a thank you for introducing a very juicy piece of work. I am looking for something good / a little unusual which I can either buy in greater Glasgow or have delivered within a few days. Budget is ~£100.

Suggestions please.

Graham,

There are many bottles I could suggest but pointless if they are not in stock where you are.
I would suggest popping into the good spirit company or Inverarity 101, both are on Bath Street and both are great places to spend money!

Glengoyne 21yo
One of my favourites and particularly good at this time of year (hints of xmas pudding).
Available direct from the distillery http://shop.glengoyne.com/twenty-one-ye ... alt-whisky
Nice presentation box too.

Good call with the Glengoyne, they may also have some teapot dram at the distillery which would also be worth picking up. I assumed the 21 would have been over budget, 99 is a bargain, certainly the older 21 in the blue box is 120-130
