Just saw my ideal 90's classic (NLC)
Had a look at the new Pistonheads Beta Classified.
Results came up with a car I have been lusting after for ages (in the colour that I wanted):
http://beta.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... rbo/453219
Looks like the perfect spec with low miles and just one owner.
Hmm, don't think Sandra would be convinced as we would have to get rid of a car!!

Tut,
Completely agree, true competitor to the 911. Sure I read that the journals preferred the handling of the A610 to the 911 but complained about the interior - obviously an Evora ahead of its time!!
Must admit if we had not bought the 964 last year then I would have been on the phone to Sandra by now bugging her about it!!

George,
That's a slightly odd choice IMHO. I admire the fleet you have at the moment, but the Alpine would be an "interesting" addition. I did not think they were held in much regard in the motoring press etc. Have I missed something?

Dom,
Yep it is a left field choice (ok very left field) but kind of fell in love after the handling reviews in Performance Car when I was younger. They gave the 911 the overall nod but I am sure they said the handling of the A610 was better. As usual, the 911 overall package (including fit/finish) was far better.
Love my 90's classics and would have the A610 in a shot if I could. Although a Venturi and Alfa SZ's would also be on the wish list!!

Stark contrast to what I remember - always had it written that it was a clever and viable 911 alternative with some Gallic foibles. That said, I fully admit my memory is not what it was...Dominic wrote:George,

Seem to have the same recollection of it being very well regarded at the time.

Ah, I think we may be comparing 1980s launch reviews with a 20 years later retrospective review (by Clarkson)

Re: Just saw my ideal 90's classic (NLC)
I prefered the onearlier one with the fixed lights but very nice choice all the same.
Apparently a bit of a nightmare to work on but I doubt it's any worse that the Esprit.

Sent the link to Sandra, comments were:
1) It's yellow !!!!
2) Only if I get an Evora GTE in white/silver
Hmmm, lets hope it's on the market for a while then !!!
