Going without your car for any length of time

I just thought I'd post because I'm feeling pretty down, what with my car still in for repair after it had an unfortunate coming together with a brick via some grass. New clam and parts were received a week ago last Friday, and the fitting/painting is still ongoing. I expect it between tomorrow and Thursday.

I'm trying not to think about it though, because when I do I just get angry that it's not outside already.

I've had to drive a sh*tty 1.2 Fiesta in between times, the clutch springs are making a nasty sound, and it has a buckled front wheel. Not exactly a performance car.

My mrs is off out with her pals tonight, and I'm just about to open some beers. Spare a thought for me if you're off out for a blast in yours. :)

Any XBox 360 gamers out there fancy a game of PGR/MotoGP or something that involves shooting people?

Yup had the same last summer when my old car was in for a new clam. In fact, was exactly this time last year. 4 weeks without.

On a happier note, just about to head out in the exige :D :drive

(sorry)

Been there done that got the T-shirt mate.

When mine was off the road for two months it bloody killed me at times.
Normally when I left work in a foul mood after a bad day thirty seconds in my car had me happy again. When I was greeted by that heap o sh*t courtesy car, even after the best day ever by the time I was home I was in a raging temper. 1.4 Polo automatics do that to you.

Just makes you appreciate it ten times more when you get it back mate.

Tis a barsteward mate, what makes it worthwhile is that YOU DO get it back, and then you love it again.

:)

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. I'm on my 2nd Stella, watching the "Push the button" video by the Sugababes, and life doesn't seem so bad now.

Cannot wait to get my car back man. I hate looking out of my office window and seeing that dunger instead of my lovely new Elise. :(

Lol.

Some of us actually do care about out cars!

If it was only a car to me mate, I would have sold it 4 years ago. Some folks seem to be a little more into theirs than you :thumbsup

Bing - PM'ed you about weekend maneuvers - maybe that'll take the mind off? 8)

Got mine back yesterday. :D

They were lined up at the office windows to see who was getting an Aston Martin delivered. 8)

Probably groans of dissapointment when the little Lotus popped out the back of the MMC lorry...
It was VERY clean, think I got Aston service by mistake.

I was almost 4 months without the Exige last year, July through November... that was really tough, but I managed to blag a brand new Merc E class for the duration and saw the bill for it the other day... no wonder there's a battle going on to recover the money  Fortunately I took out insurance for such an eventuality.....

I had a rear clam, undertray, new stage 2, diffuser, heat panels etc etc and a new front splitter, all fitted and painted by Murrays Perth bodyshop. They did an amazing job, with no hassle and regular phone updates...

Still took 4 months though

Hope you get yours back soon 8)

Got a call to say the delay since the ETA of last Friday was due to them having to take the radiator and air con pipes out, then the air con not working and having to be sent somewhere to be fixed.

I'm a bit worried now, but they assure me it should be ready for the weekend, if not Monday at the latest. Does the aircon and all that need to come out to change the clam??
