Rubbish

When does something become rubbish?
Engine oil £30 squid for 4 litres to go in the engine and when it comes out it's rubbish. So how long does it take to morph? an hour? or 6 months?
A new battery, gets the car running again but the old one's rubbish, how did that happen? They both look identical!
Lotus Elise, drive it out the showroom and it value plummets but it'll never be rubbish
Lada Samara is always rubbish even when it's new
Can anyone explain?

It's simple really:
It becomes rubbish when you are ready to throw it away.
Takes Shug's Elise for example
(Take my BMW as a fine example; was someone else's rubbish, but now a means to hours of endless fun

)
Also explains all the tat I have in the garage, house & shed; it's really rubbish, but I'm not ready to throw it away

Always a market for rubbish:-
Engine oil, pour it into an empty Mobil 1 container and sell it at a car boot sale.
Put the old battery on eBay, the idiots on there will buy anything.
New Elise out of the showroom = more money than sense, so you deserve all you get. Or to be accurate, all that you dont get.
Lada Samara? Ok, there are exceptions.

That 4 litres of oil is £30 rather than £3, or that US expenditure on oil exploration is several fold that of worldwide health investment, is a more comprensive and philosophical way of addressing how we evaluate what is useful or what is rubbish.

What is the minimum time nowadays to make Sqn Ldr?
How do you go on with a short service Commission, presume gratuity but no pension?
