Scottish Elises

Was thinking about removing the seats in the S1 and then using a steam cleaner on the inside. The cleaners at my work use it on the escalator grates for example. It uses quite a bit of water at a high temp, but it sucks it up again at the same time. So as the title says, good idea or bad idea?

I have steam cleaned the seats (fabric upholstery) of a Honda CRV before. Also steam cleaned the ceiling fabric and the result was good! Add a couple of drops of your cologne, you will be happy with the result
I am not quite sure of the alcantara interior of the elise, as I used to just wipe it with a damp cloth in my elise. As for the seats, if it is leather, you might want to check out the leather cleaner/protector from Clarks.

I've tried a consumer steam cleaner before and it didn't do aswell as I hoped. Industrial one maybe a lot different.

Has anyone here used the 'magic sponges' that are popular on SELOC for cleaning the aluminium?

I bought some Wolfs interior cleaner from polished bliss ages ago. Cracked it out a few weeks ago as I was selling my old seats. The drivers seat was pretty grubby(alcantara) but came up a treat. Spray on, agitate gently with a nail brush, wipe off with a dry towel.

Oh and I also used the same stuff on my soft top. Couldn't believe the filth that came out of it!

I have nothing constructive to add, except don't use a brillo pad - that doesn't work too well

Aldi do boxes of sponges called Power Force eraser sponge pads and they are excellent for cleaning aly interior which comes up like new. It's the best thing I've used to clean the tub.
