Exige S in Murrays

I've booked a test drive in this Exige S in Murrays tomorrow morning.
http://www.murraylotus.co.uk/pre-owned- ... 6-%2756%27

The car was supplied by Murrays and was owned by an artist in Glasgow until recently when he traded it for a newer S. wondering if anybody knows the car or previous owner?

It has sports pack and sports exhaust but doesn't have the touring pack, from what I know it means it is missing the driving lamps, maybe some sound deadening, is that right?

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated, that car is a 56 reg.

Thanks

I had the same car, year and spec and think you got it regards spec. Maybe the touring pack had a dab radio?
Sports pack has updated rear toe link, tc and rear harness bar which I thought were tje important things.

There was a Red Exige lying damaged in EK at the start of November , i past it all the time for years think it was around that age. Probably is not it but the timeline fits for repair/sale.

If it was still in a damaged state in Nov it wouldnt be in a showroom for months yet, I thought all Lotus repairs took 5-6 months
Think MMC have had it in for a while which would rule it out as the damaged one?

Think that car has been at MMC for some time, I.e. Don't think it would be the damaged one.

Hi mate, that’s my old Exige. I’ve done about 22k miles of the total mileage on the car. Traded the car at 40k miles to MMC and was sold shortly after to an artist chap.

When I traded it the front clam was going to get a respray as it was covered in stone chips after a drive to the Monaco GP in 2011 and it needed new rear tyres as well. When I owned the car it was garaged and had the full MMC treatment although to be fair the car didn’t give me any hassle the whole time I owned it.

As said the car was supplied from new from MMC and was virtually new when I bought it. Not tracked by me or the original owner.

If you can track down this artist chap then you will have the full history of the car. :) :)

Edit: The stage 3 exhaust was put on when I bought the car.

Had look at it when I was down recently. If Sparky traded it at 40k miles the artist didn't use it much as it only has 41k and a it on it now. Looked clean enough for it's age though priced strong but I guess you get piece of mind buying it forma main dealer, warranty, service etc.

Not on the MMC website now so perhaps a deal has been done. :D

Well spotted it is off the website, and in my garage :D

Pretty much the definition of an impulse buy, was in Edinburgh and popped in to Murrays to look at the V6 and spotted the S2, I have been looking for an S1 Exige for a few months but always had the niggling doubt that on the rare occasion I would use it, it might break or be broken. The S2 was cheaper than what I was going to spend on an S1 and less fragile so took a test drive. I fell hook line and sinker as soon as I heard it popping between gear changes, I'll never get bored of the sound high in the rev range :thumbsup
Drove it at 11, signed the deal as it went for an MOT, inspection and valet, drove away at 5 with a years tax.

As Sparky said it had the front clam resprayed a year ago as well as both side pods and the meshes so there are no stone chips, the wheels are immaculate with new rear tyres so generally quite fresh looking.

I live in Paris and only home occasionally so the car will be garaged and very rarely used, hopefully it won't loose much money. I am thinking about bringing it to Paris at the end of the summer to do a bit of touring here, depending on the weather in the uk.
I'll be looking out for track days in the spring to come home for and hope it is dry, already I see the AO48's are pretty sketchy in the wet!

Thanks for the help, good to know the history of the car before buying. :cheers

Are you sure it's still in your garage Kenny? I know where you keep the keys ;-)

Oh, and on a serious note, if you decide you want to get defendall or similar on the front clam I'll happily take it in for you to get done.
