So went for my second test drive of the new Exige today (last time was when the pre-launch car was here last year) but this time taking the Mrs with me so she could have a shot of the car too. So before we went to MMC both of us had talked about what cars we currently would like to have, Exige S, Evora S, Boxster S and Cayman S were all on the list. So really the idea was to test drive the Exige today and then try the others out as soon as they were available for a test drive. So no intention of buying a car today.
Anyway after trying out the Exige S and the Evora S back to back we decided we had to have the Exige. So order placed and the Europa will go up for sale a couple of months before delivery time of the car.
Spec is:
- Solar Yellow
- Gloss Black wheels
- Yellow Brake Calipers
- Premium Sport Pack
- Race Pack
- Air Con
- Parking sensors
- Heated Seats
Thanks to Brandon and Craig, both great to deal with as usual and looked after us very well. Also a special mention has to go to my wife too as she was actually the one to convince me to take the plunge and just order the car.
Hopefully the car should be with us in May sometime, can't wait

Saw it in the flesh /plastic/metal today and it did look stunning. Very jealous.

Nice way to start the new year!
Sure the Europa won't hang about: might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it looks stunning in the flesh (sure it was yours I dribbled on whilst it was sitting at MMC a couple of years ago)

Thanks everyone, excitement is properly kicking in now...next 4 months is going to go so slow for me now.

Yes, it was never the plan, originally I was intending on keeping my Europa and having something like the Evora S along side it but after driving both Exige and Evora back to back the Evora just wasn't giving me the buzz the Exige was. The Exige test drive was limited to 4500rpm as there was only about 100 miles on the clock but the sensation of speed and acceleration even just to that was something the Evora wasn't giving me. There is also a sort of intimacy to the driving experience in the Exige I've never got from any other car which I'm not really sure how to describe, as sort of being at one with the car knowing exactly what is going on all the time.
Don't get me wrong the Evora S is a great car and I really liked the IPS system, makes it such an easy car to drive but admittedly and some people might think I'm a bit of a wuss for saying this but the Exige kind of scares me a bit too as it is the fastest car I've ever driven apart from the 2009 Nissan GT-R, but the GT-R didn't give me the same buzz apart from the acceleration as you could be driving the car at 100 mph and it would still feel like you were going at 60mph.
I'm not the greatest driver in the world so the Exige is a car I'll have to learn to get the most out of it where as the other cars don't seem to be as much of a challenge to drive quickly. If I'm honest I don't even think I got the most out of the Europa either.

When I spoke to Brandon he said I'm the first
confirmed Solar Yellow order but I might have misunderstood if that isn't the case.

Hopefully May.

Thanks.
Chrome orange was another £2k on top and I thought seeing as I have had orange I would go down the no additional cost colour choice of Solar Yellow this time. I just like bright colours on my cars.

Congratulations and hope that Lotus have no more set backs this year, so that you will get your car in time for the 'summer'.
Nice choice with the Solar Yellow.
Steve.

I hope so too, got a trip to Belfast planned in the summer so I want to take the car with me there and christen some of the good drivers roads over there with the Exige too, assuming someone else doesn't do it first

There will be an unveiling when we get the car
Congratulations SAJ, you have picked a good set of options.
However I would definitely recommend the diamond cut wheels after seeing Solar Yellow in the factory. The diamond cut stops the wheels being lost in the arches but it's just a personal opinion.
