Europa, who is it for?

Why build the Europa? what's it all about?
Well I had a nice little run in it yesterday and it suits me fine

Thanks Graeme
It's a much easier car to get in and out of, especially so, as the roof is a permanent feature which allows the sill to be cut down lower than before. Once in tho' you know it's still an Elise as everything is so familiar. Six speed box with the lift up slide for reverse. stacks of oomph from the 200 horses at your beck and call and very much better all round visibility with the little extra side windows. Very easy to place and manoeuvre I just need to see what it's like on the limit now. Fits in well with the se7en for all round entertainment and long distance touring.
Arrives March 07

Sounds good Lawrence.
Are you taking it up to KH this afternoon for the 'on the limit handling test'

I went up to have a look in Saturday and was impressed - looks far better in the flesh. I didnt think it was that much easier to get into but the sills are definately better than the elise.
It not for me but I do like it
Had a wee shot of the Exige S demo

that thing is a beast even though i could only rev it up to 6K as it only has 650 miles on the clock.
If only I hadnt just bought the elise

Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh
You should also check out the vauxhall tuners as there's lots of options to make it a wee bit more responsive (not sure how much they've changed the map from the basic VXT one)

Hmm - would be interesting to know.
Standard VXT map has a *horrible* flatspot between 3K and 4K which is very disconcerting the first time it happens (it's like you suddenly lose 50hp or something). By far the worst feature of the vanilla car IMHO. Luckily a simple remap cures it totally and makes the car far easier to drive as well as a bit quicker (in a straight line at least)

Looking forward to seeing the Europa in the flesh, especially in Krypton

I like the sound of that torquey motor, and loads more go is just a chip away. Don't think it would prise me out the Exige, but as a road car it sounds fab.

Lawrence, personal question I know, but what kind of money are we talking for a Europa? (assuming a fairly 'mild' spec with regard to extras)

There's only one price, so it's just a colour choice

Finally got a chance to see the Europa in the flesh today when I was picking the car up at MMC. Soooooo much nicer in the flesh than in pics. The back end is beautiful (fnar, fnar

).
Had a wee seat in it. More refined inside. *much* easier to get in and out of. Would definitely consider it if I was after something a tad more 'practical' than the Elise. (or would consider it as a second car if I was rich!)
