i need a f***ing massive rant

What a total f***ing joke. I'm raging.........

Not to mention that my car is still not running right after 5 months, but MMC also knocked off a wing mirror, which they still haven't told me about , and they haven't put my f***ing locking wheel nut back in the car! (unfortunately i never checked this before Mckeanne drove all the way through to Edinburgh to help me change the brakes pads! )

However they will fix these things, I've been promised.

Oh and I have yet to tell them about the fact the cover that fits over the fuse box flew off at 90mph!

Rather than phone and tell me the problems, as the day i picked it up I was running about like an idiot trying to get there in time before flying out on holiday, apparently Bill hung on till i got there, but failed to notice me arrive and drive the car off. I'd asked them to leave the spare key in the boot, which they didn't do. Thought they were shut as there were no light and security gates were shut.

Most agonisingly they could have had the car for the last 2 weeks (i've been on holiday).

I phone them today to tell them the car still isn't running right to be promised that they will call me back as they think its needs a few problems sorting but they can't remember what they are. "We'll call you back this morning"....still waiting for the promised call.

Can't even begin to tell you how pissed off I am, and sorry for yet another negative post. Hard to believe i had 2 faultless years from both the car and MMC before this 5 month shower of sh*t.

If this thing had not depreciated like a rock it would be sold by now for no other reason than the service........guess where my first phone call will be tomorrow morning.....oh yeah, and I need the car for a promotional event next week in Glasgow. Tremendous.....do youself a favour and take note of this shambles....it could be you next. Doune could also be in doubt as the front pagids are toasted

They must, MUST on some level care about making money from their Lotus franchise but I can't see how.

A lot on here have owned more than one Elise, or would not dream of owning anything else, but service like this makes you swear to never give MMC your money again if you can possibly avoid it. (Although you can have bad luck elsewhere at lest you don't get charged so much for the priviledge).

Dunno how, but their business plan simply mustn't rely on repeat business or recomendations. If it did they'd be better.

Soon as you get it back, and you will, fire off a letter to the MD of MMC, that's got us some satisfaction in the past, but most importantly first sunny day you get take the roof off and go hooning about the countryside. Take a day off work if you have to. It all makes sense then.

Not good state of affairs atall, I have never been on the recieving end of such bad service, but I am amazed you are holding out in the hope it will be sorted.

Dont know what your promotional thing is, but if a yellow s2 exige is any use for stickering or whatever let me know.

Thats real bad news Andy

Its all the posts like this that made me book mine into Judes later this month for its first service under my ownership. I laughed when I received a reminder letter from MMC last week that a service was due. "Yes it is but you wont get your hands on it again!" I thought.

I hope you get your problems sorted soon. I just wasn't prepared to risk having arguments with these guys so plan to avoid them until things improve (if they do.)

Really hope you get things sorted Andy. Complain and complain until they actually do something about it. I haven't had any problems with the Edinburgh MMC, but with my Glasgow MMC problems, they started taking notice and offering compensation when I mentioned that I would write to Lotus and also take it further up the chain in MMC.

I really do wish there was some competition for them in Scotland. I think the only way this is going to change is if Lotus realise we don't have any bloody choice up here. Don't know if that will encourage Lotus to seek another franchise?

I was on the phone to Lotus aftersales today about my missing manual. Even though MMC claimed they'd ordered it, Lotus have no record of the order! I happened to mention to the guy (who was very helpful) all my problems with Glasgow MMC and he said he'd be really keen to see them and pass them onto the relevant people at Lotus, because the last thing he'd want would be for someone to be put off buying Lotus again.

I'm therefore going to send him my list of problems and I think we should all do the same. Don't want to lose our only dealership, but Lotus need to be made aware of this so that they can kick their @rse!

BTW, John at MMC was telling me that Aston Martin refuse to let them put any Lotus logos in the new building, even though it's the service desk we now go to for Lotus servicing. I wonder what Lotus would think of that? Also makes me a bit suspicious . . . I hope it's not the first step in them removing all reference to Lotus!

Fookin 'ell . . . I really should stop typing and go to bed . . . up in a few hours!

Spares you can get mail order..
Servicing or breakdown stuff, go to Newcastle.. not that far when you factor in the lack off *&^*&^ about ness into the equation.

I have no intention of ever going back to MMC. I wil either do it myself, go to a spanner n spongies event or pop down to newcastle to get things fixed.

Fully paid up member of the AA, they will deliver the car to any garage in the Uk, and that includes JUDE..
