My old man is just about to hit 70 and doesn't want a party, the current thinking is a long weekend away. Unfortunately I will have to bring the whole family so I am looking for help in locating a good self catering lodge that will sleep 6 adults.
My old man spent alot of time in Crief when he was growing up so if anyone knows of anything near by that would tick a box.

I was going to say Crieff Hydro too, but Rossy-beet me to it
We've stayed there often - good laugh - and if you can get your act together ahead of time you can book quads/horseriding/pampering for those in the group that will be interested.
Cheers,
Robin

Was about to suggest Father Gibson too.
And also a +1 for Crieff Hydro lodges. We got a lovely one over in the "village", over the back whatever it's called. Haven't been for ages, actually...must try to rectify this next year.

We rented this house for our EAT this year (that's the Edgar Family Trip).... each year we try to get as much family as possible in one location for a long weekend.

Was not that expensive , great location , massive grounds. Made sure there was no wedding on that weekend. Private church, high spec house. Really recommend it.
I am planning next years trip and the only way to better this location is somewhere that has a private pool (open to ideas ?)

We had the use of Auckinleck house for a long weekend last year, it was epic! Not too expensive either and had a large self-catering kitchen. Sleeps 13, but would hold several times that. Not too far away either.

Looks like there are a lot of other interesting properties for hire from the Landmark Trust as well.

Oh we've used Landmark trust loads. Try Castle of Park too... For a meal you can always get caterers in, we used some locally and the prices were akin to a resteraunt...

Just booked a lodge for november. £124 for 4nights at Saddell lodge. Bargain for 4 people. Some nice places on there.
