Got nicked today

Post by Blaque » Sat Sep 16, 2006 8:05 pm

Got pulled over on the A7 after averaging 82.99mph.

"now sir, it's a fine day, it's a good wide road which you know well, and we are not suggesting that you were in any way driving dangerously. However you were over the limit."

Send the council £60 and we give you 3 points.

Best of all, I was in the 306 diesel

Along time coming I suppose, first 3 points in 15 years.

No luck mate  :thumbsdown

I was driving back from Leeds on Wednesday night and was doing 90+ with no traffic around on the M74 (strange I know  )

Next thing a marked 5 series is right behind me kissin me jobby box :!: with one of those bazooka cameras on his roof.

So i pulled to the left lane with my tail between my legs and he just overtook me with one of those non-approving expressions on his face.

I hope that bazooka wasn't snapping my reg and printing out a ticket to send to the house! :? :(

Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago down in Yorkshire. Sounds like virtually the same conversation was had, but I was overtaking too (so I felt there was even more of an excuse for my speed). 3pts and 60 quid.

Cops have quotas to hit but it still doesn't make it right.

That the sort of plod I like stopping me. In london for 6 years, owned the lotus for 4 of them. I was stopped over 15 times. Not once did they endorse my license / fine me, young asian male in a nice car.

Got my points on the M6 at 4am averaging 93, exact same conversation. Sounds blokes doing their job at a sh*t hour of the day, could never hold it against them.

Not sure, they had a video screen in the car, with I guess the last frame of the car on, together with the distance and time taken to do the distance, and the combined average of 82.99mph. I really should get more clude up on this stuff.

As I said its nearly 15 years, 15 years less one week and a day since I was done last to be exact. I know this cos the the last time was on my birthday! On the recipt of the offence the copper had written down the date of the offence as my date of birth. Could of got off that one on a technicality. As according to the charge I was 1 1/2 hours old!

NOOPS 160

Bad luck which part of A7) they did me on the A68 for 72mph in the L200
Teviothead.
I was coming back from carlisle. They were sitting in the carpark behind the loos. Its after the twisty bit up from Moss Paul where the road has been widened, before the Goldsmith craft place. Thats the best way I can discribe it. So I guess the timing was taken up along that straight.

did they follow you to get the timings, or were they parked at the side of the road, and measured you between two visible points?????
