Off the back off George's car desires thread I thought I'd kick a similar thread off for the SE Bikers
Here's mine - modern day Triumph Thruxton
Anyone else?

For years I fancied owning an old Hog and managed to acquire this about three years ago.
Must admit the ownership hasn't quite lived up
to my expectations. Still like the old bus but don't get to ride it much.

Near as dammit what I've got Chris
I was never really into bikes until there was a bit on Top Gear (or was it 5th Gear) with Tiff riding a bike with enclosed bodywork, don't even remember what it was but was only available as an Import.

Was it the PC800 Keith?

Could well have been the PC800 Kenny but in my head it was waaay cooler than that.

And I don't have a picture of it but the chap across the road has made a chopped out of a frame he bought, a Triumph 900cc triple engine (converted to carbs), and then he has fabbed up the rest. I've never been interested in choppers* but he has made a lovely lovely thing. Albeit slightly too loud.

How do you find it? I've had mainly Jap 4 cylinder and Ducati sports bikes over the years, trying to tell myself the Thruxton is a more sensible option!

I love mine - it's fantastic for pootling about, sounds great, handles really well and attracts attention like you wouldn't believe. The drawback ( attraction?) is that its a modern update of old tech and it isnt a match for the speed of modern machinery, but it doesn't pretend to be, so that's ok. If you've come from a sports bike the drawbacks are going to be obvious.
I would say its the two wheel equivalent of a Morgan

Now I am not a biker, but when I was growing up I remember lusting after one of these - widely regarded as the daddy at the time. A 6 cylinder in line engine in a bike just seemed so appealingly mad
