Recent run to Fort William

Was taking part in the Marie Curie Ben Nevis Challenge on Saturday, so decided a drive to Fort William the day before was in order, that way I could camp and get up nice and fresh for the hike.
Without question the best roads I've had the Lotus on to date! Weather was superb, luggage was minimal, so stowed the roof, strapped on the harnesses and fired off with some classic rock for company
Google maps said either down to Dundee and loop back up, or take the more interesting route....
Didn't take long to decide which!
Huntly - Dufftown - (lost for a bit so ended up in Craigellachie eventually
) - Aviemore - Kingussie - Spean Bridge - Fort William - Glen Nevis Campsite
As soon as you hit the "Welcome to the Cairngorm National Park" signage it's just epic, and smashing past endless idiots dawdling on the VERY windy roads made it all the better. Nearly lost a wing mirror when a coach came past wanting the entire road to himself! One guy in a Clio 182 was clearly a local who knew the roads like the back of his hand so he was glued to my arse for a good 20 minutes around the Spean Bridge area
Got to the camp site absolutely wired, and now convinced that all I need is a well set up car, not a bigger engine (for now anyway). I'm sure many of you will have done these roads a thousand times, but I can't wait to get back there and do it all again.
Oddly, got there and found that one of the engine compartment wire mesh inserts had made a bid for freedom. No idea where that happened! Anybody got any spares?
James
