he's in a neurology ward - other half informs me that's either serious head injury, or serious spinal injury....
Hope he gets better soon - shame on you TG producers if he doesn't! Things were getting madder & madder - remember the time he took the Bedford Rascal round the track and toppled it? I thought that was dangerous enough (and not entirely surprising!)

That was pretty low pace though....and provoked.
Anyway, here's hoping he's ok.

Surely it was fitted with a complete roll cage - health & safety!
News just now was that he has made some improvements but that the family have asked that the hospital give no further details of his condition at this time.
He's the sort of chap that will come back if he at all can, so fingers crossed for him.
Meanwhile a 15 year old died in an accident in Falkirk last night - don't know the circumstances other than a 21 year old was in the same car and is in a critical condition
I wonder whether Top Gear could do a series of features on road safety/better driving standards - what they get up to on the test track is all good fun and will always contain an element of risk, but they perhaps could do something to promote sensible driving on the roads - after all they're one of the few programs that have sufficient petrol head status to be listened to.
Fingers crossed for the hamster.

It was him in it - there was an on-board camera shot of it going over, and IIRC it had no roll cage.

New series is due to have some safety stuff, including a feature on level crossings, with Clarkston doing a public safety film!
While we all enjoy doing our car stuff, and getting our thrills, we need to keep an eye of safety, enjoy ourselves, but be safe.

I can't see Top Gear doing safety promotions. They actively slag off organisations like the IAM who promote safety. I really think they should, but I just can't see it happening. Shame, because I think people might actually listen to them.
Top Gear wouldn't be the same without the Hamster . . . really hope he makes a full recovery and continues his passion for cars.

Watching Sky news at work, not looking good. "Significant brain injury" on the ticker.
