But it just came out of Edinburgh Airport travelling very low and very, very, very fast!
We've lived just off the flight path for the last 6 years and I work from home most days; never heard anything like it expect at an air show!

Heard it too as I work at Newbridge - becoming more common now - not sure if it's a regular drill that's being carried out?
Great noise though!

I guessed it might be, recently I see one on approach or taking off every week or so.
However the one today was super fast, you normally hear them for a few seconds before or after you see them but not this one! It was gone!

I think flight radar uses mode s - I don't know if the military carry it.

we see typhoons quite a lot coming out of lossie. we're @ 15 miles away but seem to be on part of the training route. a couple months back we had a couple of apache gunships fly low and slow right over our roof. seriously impressive

EDI is a reserve landing point if RAF Leuchars is not available. May be a practice drill
