Free for new AND existing broadband customers if ordered before 30th of Jan. Just ordered mine up, but doesn't seem to be very common knowledge so thought I would post up to let all know

. I don't get signal in one room upstairs and from the kitchen back so hoping this will help, and better still it's free

I'm on BT Infinity with a Home Hub 3 router and the wireless reception is poor at best so had to go out and buy a BT wireless extender at the weekend. It's good that SKY are offering the same for free

Do you not need their new hub to have the booster?
I have an ancient router and did not appear as an option on my sky section.

It says Free for all Sky Broadband customers so I'd make a call if you can't order online with your SKY id.
"The Sky Wireless Booster works best with the Sky Hub and Wireless 'N' routers. If you don't have one of these we can show you how to claim this first"

Very not-free, but I decided when I moved house that I'd do it as properly as reasonable and invested in some homeplugs. Never has something so easy to set up worked so well. Fully recommended - I went TP Link in the end. Although if Sky are handing out something free, grab it while you can

Another vote for Homeplugs. I have a 4 port switch Homeplug with my desktop, SKY+ box, WD Live TV media server and DVD connected to plus 1 upstairs for my daughters Desktop. Very reliable with negiligible drop off in download speeds seen

Shug, I was looking at the Homeplugs to extend coverage in TT, but it looks as if they have to be hard wired to the computer, and as we only use laptops I would need a something that was wireless.
I do have a wi-fi extender but it does not seem to do much.

Hi Tut, you can get Homeplug's with built in wifi extenders as well as a LAN port so provide the best of both worlds.
Along the lines of this:

All you do is buy this
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/tp-link-av200 ... -kit-n61nc
plug one end into your router and the other somewhere in your house with a bad wifi signal and job's a carrot. Only concern is if that bit of the house is on another circuit.
The Sky piece of kit looks good, but AFAIK it still needs a weak signal to boost so may not be as good as the TP link in all circumstances.
EDIT : Doh Doc beat me to it .

I had several wireless routers lying about thanks to previous BB setups, an unused one at my Mum's and the owner of our new place leaving his in the house. Simplicity to configure these as access points (well, I managed it using Google and I'm far from a Networking guru) by wiring to homeplugs at strategic points round the house (also using them as wired switches in key places like office and living room telly) and everything seems to be working seamlessly. Pays to be a tech hoarder sometimes.

Thanks guys, the Maplin's one is more than I wanted to pay and as I have two spare routers, a HomeHub3 and a Netgear, I could go that route with a pair of £20 non wi-fi HomePlugs.
Robin is staying over this weekend but I will not be able to get the plugs in time.

ps:- the wiring circuit could be a problem as I am on three phase that feed different areas of the house.

That would likely stiff you, yes. Guideline I used is that the mains rings need to connect to the same fusebox, albeit no need to be on the same fuse.

Although I am with Sky, I do not yet have Broadband with them as I am still tied into BT, so can not get the booster.
Is there anyone that could get one, but would not need it if they are in a small house, and care to donate it to a bloody big house?
