My Weekend trip to JPS

Post by james » Sun Sep 24, 2006 7:39 pm

After hearing too many horror stories about MMC the time came to head south for my first trip to Judes and my first service with that car. The trip down was mirky on Friday night but the Marriott, Gateshead was well worth the overnight stay. Excellent food, lovely facilities. Would recommend it for softy people who dont want to do the return trip in one day :) and those with wife and daughter in tow.

I headed over to Dans on Sat morning, went shopping at the Metro centre. Picked up the car in the afternoon. B service, Cam belt, new Mintex pads and brake fluid. What a difference!!! :D

Dan and the other chap (sorry didnt catch his name) were both excellent. Really friendly and did a wonderful job.

The engine sounds sweeter now and I think I have a good HP increase as well. But the brakes are just SO good now :D :D :D I'm simply amazed MMC sold me the car with such crap brakes. I always thought they were next to useless but had not driven any other Elise before in which to compare them to. I truly wonder if the car would have passed an MOT before the pads were changed.

Anyway Dan was right, the A68 was simply wonderful - much better than the A1 even with my wife following behind in our sensible car 8)

So thanks a lot Dan. When is JPS Scotland opening then? :) Oh and I like the sticker, the MMC one is getting removed soon.

Seen your car while I was in, likewise very impressed with JPS.
