N3 TUT rebuild.

It is time for N3 to go in for a rebuild as arranged some time ago with CraigM. We can not sort out this electrical problem and it needs a new clutch, along with rear clamshell, sill, undertrays, and anything else he finds, finished off with a full re-spray. I want to stick with a S1 S/C Honda preferably in blue or yellow, but as it needs to be a fully sorted, upgraded, needs no work on, it looks as if it will have to be an S2.
However this one has just been put on SELOC, accompanied by the two threads with the history of the car, pre and post accident. It is LoafingWafu's, aka Keith, and some of you would have met him at TT 2010 though it was light blue then. I remember trying to keep up on track with him.

If anybody could be bothered reading through the threads, you can skim over the Sprinting ones, I would be interested in your views. He has certainly spent a fortune on it, and seems pretty useful as an engineer, in fact I think he is a Lieutenant in the RN. It would also be an upgrade as far as the engine is concerned as it is C/C. I know that many of you like reading re-build threads, so if it looks a good bet I would do a haggle on the price and put down a deposit.

No plans yet Sanj, probably keep both and one of the boys or Jamie can take over the imposter, that is if it gets that far.

ps:- twas Verian's idea just as N3 was to stand in for N1.

Good point. Maybe something like this would be better. (And one of the best looking cars of the last few years).

Think you've nailed that Pete - perfect!

You need a very low bridge plus one barefoot driver and the roof will be sorted.
Tut, go for it ... S2 Hondas are great ... I loved Phil's when I was in it on one of the Frolics. Of course once you have it the car will disintegrate like all your other cars ... and it will be great on the Spazz trip too.
That one looks like a great car (no idea about cost, but I assume you work that bit out yourself) - if I was in the market for a car, I would give that one serious consideration (don't like white, but hey, can't have everything!).
Cheers,
Robin

Thanks Pete but I think I will stick with an Elise
Keith is at sea at the moment Robin, but will phone me when he gets back in on Thursday. I do not need the hard top, and could probably get the spare set of wheels thrown in. The car does not seem to be wanting anything, and I suppose the S2 soft top is part compensation for down grading.
I would have thought that the car could sell pretty quickly if that is a realistic price, so would make a decision on Thursday and put down a deposit. Plus if it is good enough for you then it should be for me. Have asked junks on his opinion of the repaired bodywork and respray, do not want spider cracks appearing a few months later. If I do go for it then it will be buy unseen subject to the car being as described as it is down in Bath. Had to do that with both of N1's.
Pity that my Car Bra is for an S1, though saying that if N3 comes back looking like new again, then it would be on for road runs.

ps:- whooops, all very well, but better think about paying for it.

Hi Guys
With the utmost regret I am looking to sell my beast. Attempting to be sensible for a while
I will stick the car up on P-Heads etc in a couple of weeks. I Would of course much prefer the beast to stay north of the boarder.
As many of you will know the car had a fortune spent on it by the previous owner who had the car from new. It then spent a number of painful months (for me
) with Andy at MSC who worked his magic, sorting some damage and in the process created an absolute beast of a car
The car is amazing, happily crawling along in traffic, cruise in sixth or destroying almost anything without effort!
I have priced the car to sell and have no deadline for sale so no silly offers.
The car was with MSC for the upgraded cams, ITR manifold, charge cooler and full respray. This was completed in December 2008.
Resprayed white & full Armourfend package
Black Exige mesh on all front intakes
Black mesh inserts in Engine lid
Unique rear clam with ‘smoothed out’ rear
Blue alcantara interior (standard 135R)
Harness bar & Williams black 4 point harnesses in addition to standard 3 point seat belts
26000 miles – 10000 on the Honda engine
Black nose badge & black rear LOTUS lettering
Drivetrain
Maidstone Sports Cars Link-up Honda conversion
Supercharger
ITR manifold
Charge cooler
Billet Toda cams
Eilbach valve springs
2nd fuel pump & swirl pot
Mortorsport baffled sump
Oil/water cooler
Upgraded aluminium radiator
Lightened flywheel
Large capacity air filter
MSC sports exhaust
De-cat pipe and sports cat
Dual Spa gauges – oil pressure & temperature and intake temperature and pressure
Bakes
AP discs all round
Pagid RS32 Front & RS14 rear
DOT 5.1 brake fluid
Braided Stainless steel brake lines
Front brake cooling ducts plumbed into front air intakes
Suspension
Nylatron bushes
Nitrons (single way adjustable) with 400/475 spring rates
Toe link kit
Adjustable Antiroll Bar
Other
Shift-I rev lights
HID low beam headlight upgrade
Current LED rear lights
Exige side pods
Front splitter
Fire Extinguisher
Lotus Motorsport OZ Alloy Wheels 6.5 x 16 front and 7.5 x 17 rear
Toyo R888s all (nearly new)
I have a huge folder of history and invoices totaling almost 65k . The car has been mainly cared for by Plans Motorsport & Maidstone Sports Cars.
Serviced in December including engine & gearbox oil change, airfilter cleaned and a new starter motor installed. MOTed to 16th July
HPI clear except for the change of colour. Vehicle Registration doc has been updated with the colour and Honda engine serial number.
Weight 825kgs
Car was mapped by Simon Scuffham at TDi South November 2008 producing 323.3 @ 8650 (BHP) 206.4 (lb/ft) at the flanges (around 370 at the flywheel!)
Dyno Plot
http://www.dyno-plot.co.uk/dyno/dynoplo ... ink-Up.htm
Power per ton is around 450!
A unique opportunity to own a beast of a car for a fraction of the cost
Asking £23,950
Any Qs PM me
Cheers Jamie

I have that very car. Bought it in August 2012. It is very, very quick. Be aware that things wear out quickly - tyres, pads, discs, etc. The previous owner had to have the engine rebuilt twice and we have just had a new clutch fitted as well as 4 pot brakes. Looking forward to seeing its twin on track during Spazz.
