UBD2 reader.

Post by tut » Wed May 14, 2014 10:08 pm

I have had the MIL light on all weekend, so if anyone has a reader I would be greatful if they could bring it along to KH tomorrow.

MIL light came on when I got stuck in Edinburgh traffic picking car up from MMC.....running fine but got a heads up from Mike as to what the likely cause would be and checked/shown at Inveraray the other week.I bought the OBD2 reader from EBay and cancelled the "fault" and it hasn't reared it's annoying head again/yet.Haven't had time for the mod yet but it's a lambda probe issue for me.....2nd probe not seeing a big enough difference in the readings between the 2 probes....before and after the cat......answer is to mount the 2nd probe on a spacer so it's effectively out of the gas stream and gets a significantly differant reading.Still waiting for the spacer to arrive
Should be 2 minute job to clear the MIL light.

Tut, I am surprised the MIL is even connected! Hopefully if they connected the MIL they also connected the OBD2 pins to the ECU, otherwise I am not sure where you'll connect the OBD2 reader?

Cheers,
Robin

Good point Robin, will see if I can get a reply from Keith before I leave. He does not have a CAT on the car, but this was the first time that it had come on and I have already done 2,000 miles.

My reader worked on it last night. The code was P0106 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance. How did it go after we reset it tut? I didn't see you there at the end of the night.

It's a K100 Craig so none accessible.

I am keeping the K-Pro that you took off the old car.

It stayed off for a while Neil then came back on. Will pass the code over to Scuffers.

Had to leave at 1900 so was only on for an hour.
