Good to see the continued love for the Evora.
I think with a few styling tweaks (pseudo Sports racer look etc) even the early models look good.
IanD wrote:Nice write up, I do fancy an Evora to get me back to a Lotus, wish they had done a roadster version as surprised how much I enjoyed my first soft top the Elise.
Just need my latest purchase a 968 Club Sport to appreciate a bit to boost my man car fund to fund a Evora :thumbsup
LOL, my plan is coming together. 968CS prices are continuing upwards and I could swap to an early Evora for no cost now :D
Pity the Lotus part isn't on track, no roadster and even a 400 roadster seem too high end for my needs, I do hope the range expands to a lower Evora model with roadster option

A key Evora feature is its refinement. The roof helps with that ;-)

I agree a roadster could be epic, but I could live with the tin top.

And your 968 is a tin top, after all :-)

I can't really add anything to what Martin, Andy and Campbell have said, other than if anyone is thinking about it, don't hesitate just do it. I bought a 2010 NA Evora in 2014 and 9 months later went back and replaced it with a brand new 2015 one to get the newest I could while the NA was still available new. :thumbsup

So after 4.5 years and 25k i waved goodbye to "my" evora on Monday.

Gutted to be selling it but a recent job move has meant one less car in the fleet as i cycle to work and the evora and my weekend cycling habit aren't fantastic bedfellows.

Can honestly say it's the best car i've ever owned and i wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. Value wise i think good cars will struggle to dip below the high 20s and the amount of unseen offers i got of £25k would seem to back that up (i eventually sold for £26.5k for a 10 plate car with 55k on the clock) Not a bad result depreciation wise, even with the brexit uncertainty.

Running cost wise, for the looks and performance it was dirt cheap to run, with only the lotus mild steel fixings starting to cause some issues. ie replacing a £45 mudguard bracket ends up costing £200 once you've finished drilling things out. Even the dreaded clutch cost wasn't too bad when put in the context of the age and the mileage of the car. It never failed to get me home, saw temps of -8 and did a brilliant job of mixing a proper car and a sportscar really well.

It even stood up well to being weekend transport for a "robust" and enthusiastic 3 year old. When it was cleaned up for the sale there were literally two or three wee blemishes on what could otherwise be a year old car. A far cry from the condition of the vx at a similar age and it needed a lot less fettling too.

So in short it gets a major thumbs up from me - just buy one.

A fitting end-of-term report, Martin.

4 years this month since I bought mine, and about 2 yrs since I sold it on after double the length of ownership I’d planned

Would (will) also have another one day.

Enjoy the smoker you are replacing it with

Mine is due service and 2 nd MOT at the end of the month. I keep getting asked if I’m going to change it but it’s still ticking all the boxes so a keeper for a good while yet - maybe until Lotus have some new models to tempt me.
Was surprised when yours went up for sale Martin. You have definatelly been an Evora ambassador while you had it.

Yep - we recently went through the process of trying to find a replacement for it, for our use, but really didn't come up with anything that ticks the boxes it does so comprehensively and could be anywhere near budget. Pennies to maintain, proper stop and stare looks for most folks, comfortable, quick (enough) not devastating economy and not one single (touch wood) failure that's stopped play.

So looks like Elaines will be going through the 60K miles mark in our ownership and TBH, there's nothing about it that feels leggy. Great cars.

I'm back to forming a plan to sell mine 'soon' to get something SWMBO is happy to use if I bugger off in the 335d to a trail centre with the MTB etc.... but trying to find a replacement is proving to be one of life's great challenges.

Fiesta ST, Mustang, M2, M3, M4, C63, Campervan.. etc. All on the list.

Funnily enough.. currently having a serious look at V8 RS5s.

Love the RS4s but already have one 'fast' estate so looking to compliment it with a coupe or something, rather than an even faster estate.

Think Sandra is averaging around 250-275 to a tank in the RS4.

Funnily its about the same miles range as the Defender and due to diesel prices they probably cost around the same to fill up.
