Not a hugely uncommon site on the west coast. I remember arguing with Lou about whether a shape on the horizon was an island with a castle on it or a submarine. I pointed out that the 'island' had traversed a marked amount of the horizon during the discussion.

..... and on the Royal Navy's Submarine Forum there will be a pic of a green Exige in their "spotted" section

We got pulled over by the Police on the Clyde for sailing too close to a couple of subs.
They were so nice the first couple of times, but the third time they completely lost their sense of humour...

Mr Ironside and I once got "pulled" by some serious looking men in a Navy RIB, armed with H&K MP-5s. We may have been a bit too close to RNAD Coulport on Loch Long. We were on a mission, doing about 0.1 knots in a dingy with a 2hp outboard at the time.

The converstation between boats went something like:

"Where are you lads from?"

(pointing backwards)
"That house."

"Where are you going?"

(pointing forwards)
"Pub!"

(laughter)
"That's ambitious. Think you'll ever get there with that sewing machine?"

They circled us a few times to create some big waves, then f*cked off laughing.

Twas a well-earned pint.
