Independence SE Poll
Independence SE Poll
Just for fun, thought I'd run a poll and see what SE is thinking now. I know a few have run polls before, but a few months have passed.

Up . . .
Genuinely curious about the demographics that may be swaying this away from the conventional polls - or vice versa.

Re: Independence SE Poll
It is because we are not an average cross section of the "man in the street" as shown by this discussion and many more that we have on the Forum.
Without blowing trumpets, we have probably looked more into the implications of the vote and gone deeper into what difference the changes would mean to us. I certainly have seen far more covered on here that has given me pause for thought than anywhere else, and as a result I have gone from 100% No, to a probable No, but will still try and stay open minded until the time for the cross on paper.

David
id imagine that most on here are not on the breadline and dont feel inclined to gamble with what they already percieve as a good quality of life. Those with nothing have nothing to lose by voting yes.

Re: Independence SE Poll
I read of an interview with some Glasgow neds that were voting Yes to get their £5k !!
It seems they took the statement that they would have £5k more in their pockets literally

I've visited (but not lived in) comparable western countries, and I wouldn't say any are drastically better from a public services PoV. Norway is a lovely place, but f**k me, it should be for the cost of everything..GBOBM wrote:Is life sweet though or do we just know no difference?graeme wrote:Pretty much. Life is sweet, why risk it?

And there in lies the problem. Thing is, after September it is going to change. It matters not which way you vote everything will be different after the referendum. If you are voting no to maintain the status quo, leave things as they are if you will, then I am sorry but that isn't going to happen. Those days are gone and one things for sure things will not stay the same as they are now. Everybody is criticizing the yes campaign for not enough information but the no campaign haven't got any at all for what will happen afterwords.graeme wrote:Pretty much. Life is sweet, why risk it?

True, but then they are paid a lot more than we are so it's all relative.Rosssco wrote:I've visited (but not lived in) comparable western countries, and I wouldn't say any are drastically better from a public services PoV. Re: Independence SE Poll
But if everything is going to change whichever way we vote, why vote "yes" and guarantee all that expense? #devilsadvocate
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

Re: Independence SE Poll
The only way the odds will change are if the Yes voters are so committed that they will turn out in force, and the No voters are so complacent that it will be a walkover, that they do not bother to.

Because at least Scots will have a say in what the expense is.

We have a say now. We elect a man or lady to westminster and they do as we tell them. If they don't do that we don't vote for them again.
