This page:

says you can ask for a tax refund if it's not returned within a week, so I'd go with SORN..

What is happening with the car? Presume you are going through the motions with the insurance company to get your full vehicle value?

Hi George
I'm in the process of claiming the garages commercial liability insurance.

It's taking ages.
The insurance company haven't even asked me what was inside the car ....

Good job I bought the exige 5 weeks ago
Been using that

I would have been asking their insurer to provide alternative transport , at least that might have pushed them to pay out so they were limiting their costs. As it is they can drag it out maybe in the hope the car will be recovered.

They said I've got to claim the car hire off my own insurance and I'm not covered for that
I don't want to shell out car hire money and I might not get it back

Make sure you cancel the insurance asap

I'm cancelling nothing till I've been paid out

I think I'm going to have to claim my own insurance (for speed) and then then my insurance company claim it back off the garages company liability policy

It's never simple when insurance companies are involved and they always leave you feeling that they protect their own interests instead ofthe customers

Is the garage liability insurance a motor policy or a business policy?

I reckon If you claim from your own insurance, your policies will all go up next year as you'll have made a claim, even if no fault.

If it goes through a business liability policy this might not be the case ?

Corranga - Thats what ive been told.

The garages insurance is a business liability claim. - not a motor claim
My insurance company said to claim it that rather than my motorpolicy
not sure if i still need to declare it - i probably wont.
