Court case.

Post by tut » Sat Sep 27, 2014 8:35 pm

This explains why I have heard nothing.

Dear David
Yes it was a good thing your letter was so clear – the Sheriff asked which of the two alternatives you were pleading guilty to, but it was clear from your letter what your intention was.
It’s just a pity that it was not acceptable to the PF!

I took a look at the documents you sent me – the good news is that you have been excused from attending on Tuesday, so we don’t need to worry about getting a Soul and Conscience letter for Tuesday.

When the case calls on Tuesday I will explain to the court that I am in discussion with the PF, and that we are going to be providing him with medical evidence which we would like him to consider in the hope that he will accept a plea of guilty to the alternative.

I think we should have you sign a medical mandate so that Dr McInnes will release information to me. If I email you a mandate could you sign it and post it back to me?

Kind regards,

Laura

"Hi Laura, I was wondering what had happened as I expected to hear the result of the case last Tuesday. I have not received an e-mail from you for some reason, I check several times a day and the others came through OK. Likewise with phone calls, I have an answer machine and the tone on the handset tells me if I have missed any.

I deliberately did not call you as I could not understand why I had not heard from you, and in the meantime I could still drive as I have been back and forth to the Surgery and Hospital. To be honest, the case is now the least of my worries, as my bowel cancer tests last week were positive, and Russell has now arranged for me to go into Hospital for an emergency procedure. I now have permanent stomach and chest pains so I hope they take me in quickly. There will be no problem with the "soul and conscience letter", I saw Russell yesterday when he came back from his holiday for the results of my other blood tests which confirmed the over active thyroid gland, high cholesterol, and poor liver function results.

What was the reason for the sentence not being given on Tuesday, as I had pleaded guilty? Had I screwed up or was there another reason?

I appreciate that you are doing all you can especially as they are insisting that I attend, but it should be fairly clear cut now why I can not, so I will get Russell to send you the letter as soon as possible.

If I do not get a reply to this for any reason, then I will call the office to confirm that I have mailed you.

Cheers

David"

Tut, I'm deeply sorry to hear your news, what I will say though is that another friend of mine has just been through the same and is making an excellent recovery and you're a tougher bugger than him. We'll all be thinking of you and you can be absolutely certain that there is an entire online family here that will be thinking of you and will do anything they can for you if you need any assistance.

Thanks guys, wrote this a few hours ago but it seems to have disappeared.

I think that my initial post must have been misread as fortunately it is not an operation but a procedure to look into it further.
Hopefully they will find something else that is causing the stomach pains.

Tut,

Struggling to write something that makes much sense to be honest... But forget the court case, and focus on staying strong throughout and make your health your priority.

Best of luck old boy, as has been said you're a fighter and if anyone can pull through this then it'll be you!

Tut,

Here's hoping the PF agrees to sod off and leave you to sort out the only thing that really matters, your health.

Hopefully it's just a stuck fart. Did you check the sell-by date on those olives you put in your breakfast Martini?

We've got fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you.
