lol. Nothing overly "Lotus-ish" and I have just driven back from Birmingham and stuck it in the garage.

It is a 6 litre LS Engined Ultima GTR. Fancied one for a while and enquired about a few over the years but never felt confident enough to take it any further. Difference this time is that it was a well known and well regarded car in Ultima-land. Previously owned by 4 folk on PH who all sang its praises by PM as did the Ultima factory (unusually for a non-factory car apparently).

Current owner was a dream to deal with and is a professional test driver with Aston and Jaguar and spends his days at work doing high performance evaluations and prototype testing. Bonus was that he has owned almost every variant of Lotus so was able to answer all my dumb questions in realitive terms I could associate with and put some perspective to the big numbers. He took me for a very memorable wee test drive in it this morning.

Essentially feels like a big S1 Exige, will get to 60 mph is about 3 secs and weighs 1060kg with fluids. Performance appears more than adequate and no doubt it can get me to Tescos very quickly indeed.. which won't be much use unless I am intending to buy a toothbrush or a small bag of crisps. In reality the performance is way beyond anything I will explore, I just thought they looked cool and was fairly safe money. Takes all sorts :blackeye

Edit to add: It has been on track with a couple of the owners inc the last one, and has been to Le Mans a couple of times and driven in the Le Mans Classic. Will I take it on track... dunno, so many plans to do "stuff" like that, so much other "stuff" to do. Hey ho...

An unusual choice if you don't track it, in fact you NEEEED to track it.

That's going to raise a few eyebrows at Tesco, Jim.

Hats off to you!

Haha.. Perhaps!!
I have collected a dozen bags of frozen tripe in the Ferrari from the pets shop before so it is a possibility, although having a boot did help ;)

Frozen tripe in Ultima is a no no. Imagine if it were to thaw when the car inevitably breaks down. You would have to sell the car ...

... to someone with a cold :-)
