N3 TUT
N3 TUT
This is just an idea, but chances are that N3 is going to be laid up for a year, and I do not like the idea of that. I have no intention of selling her, there are not that many Elises of that spec around, and she is a lovely car, so she should be driven, not sitting in a garage doing nothing.
Not sure how it would work, but I would sooner somebody looked after her for the duration of the ban and used her as meant, road runs, track days, and possibly a new experience, commuting. I will have to phone Mary on Thursday and cancel the Insurance, road tax is free, MOT will be there for a year, so it would just be Insurance required.
Loan would be for free, twould be just look after it as if it was your own car, and have CraigM take care of the mechanical side. As Arnie said, " I'll be back "

Shucks. If we hadn't just bought an Evora, this could have been our year of 2 Elises
I'd DEFINITELY wash it, too.
Albeit it is far too fast for me.
Can't one of your boys mind it for you? Oh hang on
I nominate Robin. His S2 is a bit broken at the mo...

Re: N3 TUT
I'd happily run it for a bit - I only have my 32 year old Citroen at the moment, so could probably do with something a bit more reliable*

Lotusless SEers should take priority. Unbiased opinion of course

Re: N3 TUT
Hey Tut,
We've never met but I follow the forum closely and read your posts with interest, I would be delighted to look after your Elise for a year or however long you may not be able to use it.
I would not be able to use it daily as I work away from home Monday to Thursday but could assure you it could be well driven at weekends and kept safe in my garage the rest of the time around 5 miles from MMC.
I've only had one Elise and didn't keep it too long as I needed a bigger car at the time but still miss it; Brandon sold it on my behalf and I'm sure he'll verify that this was in the same condition to which he sold it to me for almost a year before.
I'm sure you won't be short of offers but give me a shout if you think I can be of any assistance,
G

Re: N3 TUT
Thanks guys, nobody is likely to driver her quicker than me on road or track that has volunteered so far, also had pm's, apart from Neil of course,
so pretty confident she would not be abused.
However don't forget that there is 350hp behind your neck, so it does need to be somebody that has experience with the higher powered Lotti, or you will find yourself unintentionally going a lot faster than you realise. This is because the engine is so tractable that you sit in 6th most of the time even on a fast road run, and unlike N3 original, she is well set up and easy to handle. When I was stopped at 109 I had not even been looking at the speedo, I doubt if any of us do on the twisties, so expected to see 90 max on the gun, and that is after 16 years behind the wheel, albeit most of the miles without a working speedo.
I have to look into the Insurance situation as regards somebody getting cover when they are not the registered owner, and then the options would be few, age dependent best bet would be with Mary at REIS as she knows my cars and nothing would have to be declared. Also the car would have to be serviced and looked after by Craig as he would be acting for me, and there is nobody I would trust more.
Will have more idea after Wednesday, but pretty much expecting the worse even with my normal optimistic outlook.

Very kind & generous offer indeed,if it was mine I'd be keeping it in the heated garage and letting the "nominated" person take it out whenever.....not suggesting that BTW,whoever becomes the custodian will take very good care I'm sure.GregR wrote:Very generous gesture your tutness, whomever you chose better be aware of the significance of the N* TUT legacy.
