I have a Samsung M40 laptop. Charger has died and I can't get a replacement anywhere. I bought a universal charger but I need the tip to suit the samsung. Ordered one form Expansys but they are saying it will take 28 days to get one. Been without the laptop for a week already. Using PSP at home to surf the web which is not ideal.

Thought this is maybe something Andy could get or any other suggestions would i could buy one?

Anyway, here's the link:

Why don't you just cut the tip off the old one leaving a couple of inches of cable then mate to the universal. What tip(s) does the universal one have? If it has something you can buy a matching female part in Maplins for then buy that female, solder it to the salvaged lead and use it as a wee adapter. If you cannot get anything then you can chop the end off the universal one as well and just solder the wires togther, or link with a terminal block.

If you want to send the whole lot down here I will fix it for you if you don't fancy doing it yourself ...

Cheers,
Robin

I have thought of that Robin and I reckon this is what I'm going to have to do. Just cannot find a replacement. It's crazy. Laptop is about 14months old.

I have a soldering iron if you need G.

(Actually it's gas powered and also works as a blowtorch, although the biggest thing I've tackled is a marshmallow...)
