J TSE Karting report

Post by Stu160 » Tue Oct 10, 2006 12:24 am

Hi All

We were at Banff at the weekend,2nd round of the Northern Challange.
Steven had a 7 point lead, but has never went went well at Banff.

He was on the pace on Sat,so looking good, even though the weather was not,its a funny track at Banff, quite hard ,and very bumpy.Anne Marie had never done it before, but was going well, she picked it up very quickly, and was also going well.

Steven had a bad day,and was involved in quite a few " incidents " none of his doing, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.He was not on it at the starts ,which was not helping,so his 7 point lead was all but gone by the final.
He was 5th on the grid, the other lad was on pole,so he had a lot to do.Anyway,he had another poor start, and dropped to 7 th I think and was then held up by another driver, who turned in on him at every corner,I was not impressed, and neither was he,they were off the track ,at about lap 7 and Steven lost a bit to him by the time he got back on.He was held up so much,he was 1.3 sec of his pace for the day, thats a lot.
Steven caught him again,7 kart lenghts in 1 lap,and they went off again.Steven got going and the other boy did not.
I think he finished 9th ,not sure with all that gone on.
Meanwhile, when they were off the track,Anne Marie had passed them and went on to take 3rd Honda, and 7th overall, and at the prize giving ,got a nice big trophy for 3th in the Nothern Challange.....didnt expect that,so chuffed, and Steven got 2nd.I think even if he had a good final,he may still not have won it,I think he was 2-3 points down.

So a mixed weekend, but overall,a big step forward,we now has the pace there, which he never has had before.

Next race is Golspie again,so a 3 week break, and we are off to sunny Tenerife on Friday,a well deserved break

Cheers

Stu

At the moment maybe

Just wait till they are in Rotax, and front runners, and need new tyres for "every" meeting.
