Alpine Sat Nav

This is for sale in the Lotus sale at around third price. The one in our Honda CR-V is not upto much and is also giving fault codes that means it will not boot up the Nav screen.

Is this a generic size that will fit in a standard double din, as opposed to Evora specific?

Did anybody buy a soft top?

£199 as opposed to £890 from Lotus.

Tut, the stuff is all from Lotus - it's a factory 'sell off' auction so a huge saving for a manufacturer. I am tempted to buy another set of wheels for the Evora but divorces are expensive so false economy really. :blackeye

Just make sure it's UK / Euro spec. Some of the other single DIN units say only for use in USA or Middle East.

This one says not suitable for the USA or Gulf States.

It says it has no power lead as that was built into the harness of the Evora, so would my existing one plug in or would it be a different socket?

should fit fine tut,

the power lead will come from your car anyway, id imagine you may need a short ISO adapter harness and maybe a different connector for the GPS receiver.

Just bought it for Verian as an Anniversary present.

I know, I know, I have already spoilt her with the Jacuzzi bath, lawn mower, trimmer, and garden shed, but I am just a big old softy.

May need a hand though in removing the old one and fitting it into the Honda.

These are still available but are listed twice at £171 and £230 for identical units.

Going to buy a few as they are going on eBay at £400 plus.

The £230 one has UK and Gulf states maps on, otherwise they look identical.

The £171 is the one that I bought with the same wording, so is suitable for the UK and Europe.

I bought one of these a few months ago for my Merc Vito. It's a fantastic unit. I had to buy a new power lead, was only £10.
I was annoyed with the lotus splash screen on start up but a quick Google and found the fix to configure to any picture you want, so now have the merc logo.

Money well spent, a bargain imo. The gps speed read out vs speed limit is useful too.

Have you tried upgrading the maps Dave which you can do for free in the first 30 days of switching on?

Also the years offer of Speed Cameras for £6?

I did tut it took forever but I "think" it worked. If I remember rightly it was very fiddly and was a few months ago. I didn't take out the camera offer as its only for the van. I also can't get the iPhone/video to work but that doesn't bother me.

Bluetooth streaming works very well.

Only thing I fancy now is some better speakers.

Think that I might have a dodgy 32GB micro SD card, it was fine in the Macbook showing 32GB and I have been using it as a backup, but when I reformatted in Win10 for the Alpine, it would not boot up when I tried to upgrade. It would only show as 200MB and now can not be formatted on the Mac or the PC in any of the FATS/NTFS.

The same with the Speed Cam file.
