Currently 45p / litre with Calor but our contract is also up for renewal next month.
Will be getting quotes from J-Gas, AvantiGas, etc which Calor are usually very keen to beat.

So, the power of competition & 4 phone calls.

Calor Gas renewal came through at 45p/l variable rate.
J-Gas offered 41p/l fixed for 1-year with a 3p/l cap in 2-year.
AvantiGas quoted 31p/l fixed for 1-year with 5p/l cap in 2-year with £50 gas credit. Alternate was 32p/l fixed for 2 years, no credit.
FloGas would price match at 31p/l for 1-year with 3.5p/l cap in 2-year and £150 gas credit.

Quick call back to Calor Gas in Grangemouth (who are always a pleasure to deal with) and they matched FloGas! Result! :)

Just makes you wonder how Calor can go to 31p from 45p, other than taking the p.......

UK most expensive Country in the world for diesel, top five for petrol and LPG.

Venezuela $0.02/litre, UK $1.73/litre.

The oil and gas industry (subcon manufacturing anyway) is on its knees atm. I could do with $70+ a barrel again.

I'm tired of making people redundant and wondering when it's my turn.

I was speaking to a dairy farmer the other day and he was moaning about the price of milk, I asked if he would be willing to pay an extra 10p a litre on his fuel to help us poor Engineers.

conversation over :D
