Scottish Elises

Just watching the Elan repeat. Bought it for £8.5K, cheapest on PH is double that.

Little gem when they finished with it. Over bored Lotus twin cam engine giving 156hp, needed two ball joints, new driveshafts, S/S exhaust, some filling, re-spray. Must have been a few years ago as it sold for £16.7K giving them a £5K profit, but then that is with free labour.

Would loved to have driven it, a bit lighter than an S1, so would have probably matched any model under a VHPD.

They do look lots of fun.

There was a boy on here that joined us for a run part of the way down to Brighthouse camping week end and he had restored one , it had no problem keeping up.

I do like the old Elans. Strong money in them now.

Had not realized that there is a new series of Wheeler Dealers on just now - Discovery Channel, Monday evenings.
