Brilliant...what's the story? Just a visitor?

The guy we bought the house from used to raise and train Birds of Prey, including the Eagle Owl and we still have the Aviary here, so he pays the odd visit.

We get lots of other hawks etc around the house, just watching a Buzzard out of the bedroom window hovering over the lower field. Used to worry about are little Silkie chooks, but they have survived so far.

You are certainly in the right place to get a few visitors, looks like a lovely owl.

I saw a nature program a couple of weeks ago, which explained the amazing capabilities and senses of an owl, they are remarkable creatures.

Although none of that helped the tawny owl that fell down my chimney a few years ago. I'd been away for a few days, arrived back late noticed the fireguard had fallen over, picked it up and went straight to bed. I went straight to work the next day. It was another long day, home about 9pm, went to make a cup of tea and noticed one small feather on the stairs to the living room. Followed the trail and put the lights on, then realised by the odd poo there had been a visitor. I then realised the visitor had to still be there. After a 5 min search I found this lovely owl behind a curtain staring out the window into the darkness. Then calm as you like he rotated his head 180 degrees and looked straight at me. After an initial failed attempt we managed to get him to fly out a double door, no worse for his experience. For the next couple of years an owl hung about the house, maybe the same one maybe not.
