Been a while....

Post by Shug » Mon Nov 23, 2015 6:58 pm

...since I had an excuse to post about a new car on here...

So Elaine's had her Supercharged 111R for a scarcely believable 7 years. Bought from Mr Robertson when he was still a lowly car salesman and not the pillar of Lotus in Hethel that he now is. Bought back when I still had my S1, so it was a his & hers combo to die for.

Things change though. We had a wee lad over a year ago now and whilst the Elise has still seen solid use, it's pros were starting to be outweighed by the cons with the limited toy-time both Elaine and I now get. So what do you do when you have a family? Get a family car of course!

Hence, yesterday, she picked up her lovely Evora - a nice example at the entry to the market, price wise, not that it reflects in condition. Bought from MMC - Brandon's been excellent in the run up to this, but planned for a while - so thanks also go out to DDtB and Lazydonkey, who I've been bending the ears off with questions, plus the top lad that is Craig Moncrieff, who I've been discussing specific cars, options, upgrades, in fact everything a total anorak like me would want to know before pointing his missus to spend her hard earned money on one.

I've literally only had a 5 mile test drive of it so far - all positive, but by God, is it a lovely place to sit on the motorway, yesterday as she brought it home.

So - first time since 2002 I've not had an Elise of some sort I could jump into, but I think the Evora is a very fitting replacement for us.

Oh yeah - pic (complete with missus looking a strange combo of happy and shifty):

Looks nice. I do think the car suits that colour and I also like any interior that isn't black... so that looks great to me :)

It's a really colour sensitive shape too.

It looks very different in certain colours (and that's a great combination).

It really does. Everytime I see daves car I'm amazed at how different it looks. And vice versa.

Welcome to the club Shug and Elaine.... Rest assured you aren't the one that's asked the most questions before purchase!
