Any suggestions on who to use for some diagnostics- don't really want the expense of getting the car shipped to CMC and back if it's something trivial I've missed...

Get an RAC membership and call them a couple of weeks once 'you're sure' it's broken down. They can take it to CMC.

I am doing exactly that next week Iain, don't worry you will realise what a devious bunch we are.
Did not hear from you so hopefully you got the 4th wheel from Craig.

ps:- do you have P&L, if not get it as that will pay for the HGF? If you own a Lotus then you either have P&L or you are brain dead.

In my eyes there's no point shipping your car when you've got people on your door step.

Jim (John?) Duthie and Ricky Gauld have been mentioned positively many times over the years.

Is it carden, or corden in aberdeen.
Guy there worked for murray motors when they had the lotus franchise in aberdeen.
No idea if they are any good, but did a full service at normal car prices on my lotus s1.

Carden serviced my s2 and did a sterling job at reasonable price. Would use again. M

Carden also did some tricky work on my Esprit GT3 a few years ago, again at a reasonable price.

Parts & Labour.
It covers most breakdown parts and the AA will pay for the repair up to £500 with a £35 excess.

It's an opportunity for the AA to empty your wallet, then put up a fight and not pay out when you claim.
RAC service and cover far superior IMHO.
