Great thread, not sure how I missed it originally.

Proper kudos and respect to you for being so professional surrounding your original troubles, and great to see things back together and looking right now, but most of all it's great to see you can enjoy your car again!

My experience a few years ago - it was much more straightforward to deal direct with autoglass and let them sort the insurer. I know autoglass have changed how they operate now, so that may no longer be the case, but worth investigating.

Went to autoglass and they couldn't deal with it directly. I had to revert back to the insurer and their preference was for one point of contact so have gone with Craig Moncrieff.

Obviously insurers can be difficult so we are just making sure everything is fully approved before we kick off..

Time to update this thread with the latest progress. It has been a year now Vicky has been back on the road. And to say that she has been into Craig's a few times would be a fair comment......

New parts fitted and refurb work done by Craig Moncrieff Cars.

Replaced radiator and fan.
Rebuilt pedal box (after Lesley complained about the squeaking)
Fitted Elise shop rear toe links.
Replacement engine. (K series - not Honda - Following HGF)
Refurb rear brake calipers
Replacement clutch
Replaced clutch slave cylinder
Renewed window seals and re bonded the side window.
Replaced two front number plates...

Nothing else I can think off that the car needs done to it now except maybe changing the disks for some that are not made out of cheese.

The engine had the usual HGF. Looking back it is now obvious the engine was a duffer from the day it was returned. We had an issue with temperature spiking that we thought at first was a stack issue. Exhaust gasses leaking into the cooling system was factor in two hoses and then a radiator bursting. anyway, engine now in and the car is awaiting its 2nd MOT since the rebuild. I only managed 4000 miles this year, must try harder.

Nope, he did not. And if it wasn't for him and his mechanics my Vicky would still be a bag of bits sitting in the garage at home.

5th MOT passed since the car came back. No issues, no advisories.
