Condolences to all Fifers. I drove across it tonight. Was that for the last time in months...or years? Will it now be closed until the new one opens? Hovercraft? Ferries?!

WFH with occasional train.
Watched the Scottish Transport Minister last night who was ill prepared for his interview and offered nothing which does not lend itself to decent alternatives being offered.

As the story unfolds this morning, I apologise for being a little flippant in starting this thread. The impact is clearly not trivial...and the Transport "Minister" had nothing much to offer on the radio this morning.
8 mile queue for the Kincardine Bridge already. Eek.

We approached FRB last night around 1930 none the wiser, having landed at Edi after a short break in Krakow.
Foolishly thought the worst of the traffic would've subsided by then, but 3 lanes into one is never fun
Added approx 30-45 mins to our home time in sh*tty weather, pity the poor folks who have to do this daily.....

Scotrail put out a notice saying no guarantees on gettin on a train and to use alternative transport... Eh... The train is the alternative transport.
Scotrail (abellio) are a fing shambles. Only 60% of the trains arrive into Edinburgh on time!

I've been off-shift Wednesday to Saturday this week so thought I had been lucky and it'd be back to normal by the time I'm back on on Sunday. Doesn't look like the case.
Train is not an option as I'm supposed to start in the north of the city at 7am and the earliest train doesn't get in until a few minutes before 7. It'd be closer to 8 by the time I was at work.
I guess I'll have to leave at stupid o'clock and hope I get over Kincardine before the worst of the queues.
Rumours are already starting to circulate that the steel they need will take 3weeks to arrive from the Far East..... let's just hope rumours is all they are!

The prospect of 3-4 hours of travelling on top of an 11hr shift is filling me with joy.
Also a 120 mile round trip instead of 50.

Do they have spare trains at that notice, does the line have capacity? Pretty sure the rail bridge has some load imitations as well.
