Jim,

Car is looking awesome and so glad that you enjoyed the drive up from Yorkshire.

We can now have a competition on who can erect the roof in the fastest time now.

I presume the vocalness of the PSE is to your liking or would you prefer it was a little louder?

Would it be up against an S1?

Tut,

I suspect it would be a relatively close call between the Spyder and an S1. Having experience of both I would say the S1 would just pip it time wise.

The 987 Spyder roof was always one of its bugbears and lots of people said it was a faff, to be honest its not something that bothers me and quite like the additional effort that you have to put in to get the roof up/down.

Encourages you to leave the roof off. A Good Thing :-)

Thanks

I will probably be sensible and just leave the sports exhaust as it is. It isn't a bad sound and I guess I will have the LOUD button switched on all the time anyhow. I have managed to only have the roof up on the Ferrari on half a dozen occasions over the past 4 years, and only then when I have been totally caught out, so I doubt this will be much different. In saying that, I haven't tried to put it up yet anyhow :)

My mate picked up his GT4 on Saturday. They're changing hands for north of £109k now

No Porsche aficionado here but it's always struck me that the spyder is as close to the original concept boxster that I've seen.

Sorry for thread hijack but which colour did your friend go for, mate of mine has one on order but unsure of what colour to decide on due to "Paint to Sample" being closed and lack of cars to view.

Sapphire blue with yellow stitching. I've tried to attach a photo but can't, it's on my Flickr:-

As you'll see the car is specced with steel brakes and OPC won't sanction a calliper spray to yellow (to match stitching/belts) as that's reserved for the PCCBs.

Quite a car. I really like it. I wonder how it would stack up against a 997 GT3.

That Sapphire Blue looks nice.

As I said somewhere else, there were two GT4's up at the Aberdeen OPC. One was black and the other was a dark grey and they were fairly inconspicuous and almost bland looking.

There's a yellow one too at Abz, and it's anything but bland! 8)
