P.S. Tut, I am sure you can get whatsapp on your iPhone 4 - it's only natural that things move on - after all this forum is not the first SE incarnation, so why should it be the last! Long live SE in whatever form it happens to be.

Sanj put me on Robin so I do join in on my iPhone 4, but it runs at around 200 posts/day and boy can they talk, so I do not try to keep up with the one liners but do somehow manage to read them all. As it is not moderated at all anything goes, so I do find myself very shocked at times.
I suppose the difference is that I am by my laptop all day whereas the rest of you use your mobiles as main means of communication. Just means that I will have to post even more even more gems of wisdom(rubbish) than usual on here.

It started with Facebook. Meets etc being arranged there rather than on SE.
SE is car specific so still extremely useful for lotus related subject matter.
Whatsapp is just group text messaging.
There's only one constant in life and that's change.

I run an MTB forum and whatsapp has all but destroyed our forum, 0 posts in six months when it would have 10000s in years gone by.
The bike whatsapp chat can be a total laugh but also can find Some not works are material appearing very quickly... Screen off screen off!!!
