Hi Folks,

Currently got two 5ft fluorescent lights in my double garage and the light they produce is sh-t.

Was going to fit four double fluorescent fittings but wondered if the collective could recommend something a bit more light efficient that doesn't cost a fortune.

Cheers

We have replaced nearly all our low energy bulbs with LED ones as we have a lot of ceiling lights, if you get the white 6400K they give a brilliant white light and are lower energy.

You can get LED tubes now that do a similar job, lots out there but go for a good quality one, these are £15 but just have a google.

I costed LED vs energy saving fittings for work recently. LED fittings were a 1/3rd more expensive to buy but payback was 6-8 months.

trialling the led "tubes" at work just now Graeme and so far so good. will be what i swap mine for in the garage when i get home. Swapped out all the lights in the house last year to LED equivelent and we got a nicer light for not far off half the cost in the long run... no brainer really....
