Scottish Elises

Went looking for these the other day and couldn't find any on the NCAP site or anywhere else (or for any Lotus).
Are Lotus exempt from these?

I think they were due to low production numbers but still had to go through some crash testing and performed well, I recall they were able to use one car for 3 different tests rather than 3 separate cars as it was relatively undamaged(?)

i believe its based on having production of more than 1000 of a particulate car type, if the model changes enough then it doesn't require XX models to be surrendered for destructive testing. So thus the many many different varieties, sub varieties, sub sub varieties of elise, lotii, caterfield etc...

NCAP is nothing to do with any part of homologation rules.

NCAP decide what they want to test, go and buy cars and test them, the bigger manufacturers will then often re-imburse them the costs of the cars.

Lotus would not be interested in the test results, so are never going to cover the costs, so NCAP will never go near them.

interesting, my knowledge is a few years old based on work my company did on some alternative powered public transport systems with a consortium of automotive designers.
