Re: Utility Supplier
I've just changed suppliers to Bulb who have decent customer service and reasonable rates, despite being 100% renewable energy suppliers. Electricity is 13.51p and gas is 2.52p. It's not a fixed term tariff though - just their standard rate which is subject to change, but there are no exit fees and you can swap at any time.
They also have a referral scheme. If anyone signs up using this link, then we each get £50, and if just one person uses the link, for me it will work out at the cheapest deal on the market.

Just too late for me John as I changed two weeks ago, but I checked anyway.
However it was more expensive for me than my Economy Energy, 13.5/24.5 compared to 12.7/14.

Tut, the bulb rate wasn't the absolute cheapest, but at my usage rates the difference per year was in the tens of pounds, not hundreds. I can switch at any time with no penalty should their rates go higher than their competitors, and with the £50 credit deal it if anyone signed up was a bit of a no brainer. My swap went through without issue.
Re: Utility Supplier
Excellent John, thanks again!
They were the only ones that seemed to be independent of post code, every person in the office I got to try ended with the same price as tut, no end for the tariff and a lot easier to deal than the shower of sh*t that was Scottish power.
Very pleased!

£3/month more expensive than my existing EDF contact. Will try again when it expires in May.JohnStewart wrote:I've just changed suppliers to Bulb who have decent customer service and reasonable rates, despite being 100% renewable energy suppliers. Re: Utility Supplier
I see the Tories are proposing a scheme where by if you stick with your supplier you should be rewarded with cheaper rates rather than price hikes, which is the way it should be not what we have now having to constantly jump to get a better deal. We will see if they can pull it off and how it's going to work but could spell the end of having to keep switching year on year.

Re: Utility Supplier
Has anyone heard of Pure Planet? Just looking at a supplier for our house move and they're cheaper by miles. Supposedly 100% renewable - how does that work with gas? Looks like you have to do everything through an app which suits me fine.

Re: Utility Supplier
Neil, I have just signed up with Pure Planet, go live next week- saving me a whopping £1100 on the tariff I would have gone on with GB and £200 cheaper than next best quote .If you decide to go with them here's a link so we'll both get a £25 Amazon voucher. ( Anyone else feel free to use it too)

Re: Utility Supplier
I have just gone live with PP from Economy Energy whom I went with a year ago after GB Energy went bust. Don't trust EE now, worst reviews and cons I have ever seen lately, so got out early and stopped my DD whilst still in credit.
Can't say that I like PP's AP only, no e-mail or telephone, but it seems to work and they have been very efficient so far. I go on lowest Unit price, but realise that I am taking a chance on Customer Service with these little outfits compared to say Eon, as they mostly go bust.

Re: Utility Supplier
Tut,
Did they say what their actual Unit Price was going to be.
Based upon a 12296Kw per year (as we actually switched the Aga off this summer) for me it is between the following:
Enstoga - cheapest fixed price deal with annual cost of £1614 but no customer feedback given yet.
Bulb - more expensive at £1749.97288 but cheaper if I take into account John Stewarts and a 1p unit price of Pure Planet
Pure Planet - one of the cheaper options at £1617 but works out at £1740 with a 1p per unit increase.

Re: Utility Supplier
I switched to Out Fox The Market last year and as far as I can see it is still the cheapest for us. PP quoted 13.65p which is considerably more than the 11.05p + £13.99 membership fee each month.
Using our figures the above usage would be £1534 per year.
