Post by vet111s » Thu Mar 10, 2016 10:33 am

Any good reviews of utilities companies? Dont have realistic readings since we only moved into our house 5wks ago. Specifically looking for any good fixed price deals anyone's found

Cheap Energy Club works for me. Cashback and an email if I could save by switching.

Don't always pick the cheapest if they are small and unknown. I did that once, and they were so overwhelmed because of all the Cheap Energy Club switchers that the small company couldn't cope. I tend to pick the cheapest deal from somebody I've heard of.

I've just switched to GB Energy and will be saving about 30% over what I was paying Scottish Hydro.

I changed to GB Energy from Scottish Power, electricity only but they were the cheapest unit/pence, good Customer Service, and a saving of around £550/annum.

Recently switched to First Utility after using a comparison website. Never used to bother but this is about my 5th move now in as many years. Always do it for car, home, pet insurance so have now added energy :thumbsup
The deal I am on is the Quidco Fixed February 2017 Direct Debit ebill Ends 28th Feb 2017. Also got £40 cashback by going via the Quidco Energy Club.

Switched to First Utility a year or two ago.

No longer convinced they are much cheaper, but the frig around with my Direct Debit a lot less, so that alone is of value.

Also moved to GB Energy.

Switch took slightly longer as our double baralled address was mismatched on the national database, however just took 2 days to correct. I had to chase them up on the switch as did not receive confirmation that it has gone through.the good news is the help desk is pretty good and your not speaking to a bunch of idiots.

EDF works for us. Good support, and appropriate bill prediction.
