Bit of a sod that they have gone as found them relatively hassle free although I only had about £50 credit with them.

Moneysavingsupermarket did give me an email about a month back saying I would be £7/month switching to Eon but decided to stay with GB Energy to support one of the smaller players in the market as Eon were rubbish in customer care.

As Moneysavingsupermarket says there wil be probably more details on Monday but suspect we will hve to swap once a new player takes over.

Surprised that they only had 160k customers as in this day & age would have thought more people would change to the cheapest price and they were consistently cheaper.

That's competition I guess.

Agree. Players need to keep shaping up. You'd think nearly 20 years after market opening, they'd have the big six licked :-(

I wonder how they will treat my £380 debit as I cancelled my DD as soon as e.on took over.

Bad time to be switching, all the decent deals have disappeared.

Useless twats can not even set the the correct DD.

Leave SP with a debit of £1,100, leave GB Energy with a debit of £380, at least e.on have set it at £200 which will cover it. The other two were £67 and £116.

It's that time of the year when I need to switch again. Currently with GB Energy (aka Coop Energy) from the Fixed 12 Crystal tariff.

After doing a comparison, based upon my email from GB Energy I was only going to be saving £40/year. For the hassle I thought I may as well keep the existing company. So went to the GB Energy portal and find out that the recommended tariff is not available

Next step is to contact GB Energy, however wondering whether anyone has switched to PFP Energy ? Cheaper than EDF Energy by £1 but do prefer to give my money to the smaller guys if they give good customer feedback? Only problem is the Martin Lewis Cheap Energy club has 36 votes (69% Great, 14% Okay, 17% Poor) so not exactly a large consensus.

I am still with extra energy and according to u switch and the cheap energy club no body comes close. It isn't fixed its a variable rate but, for us at least it's still £3-400 cheaper than anything else.
That being said our consumption is higher than most due to the heat pump but compared to Lairds Park where we used to stay it is still cheaper than the electric/oil system we used to have.
Don't believe all the negative reviews, they have been fine to deal with if your paying by DD. Although they do keep trying to drop the monthly payment in the summer months even though we have a really good handle on our average use over the year so know exactly how much we need to pay. Just bump it back up online after a bill as that is when they usually knock it down.

Just checked again and the next cheapest for us is PFP at 13.167p per kWh with 28.48p per day standing charge which would be £409 a year more than the Variable Price v1 we are on.
10.689p per kWh and 57.54p per day standing charge.

I am in the same position George, GB Energy only £2-3 a month more and easier to stay with them particularly as we're mid bank account change too ( assuming I can :? ) .
Our previous supplier kept dropping the monthly payment then we ended up with a massive bill in the middle of winter so I don't mind running an overpayment in the lighter months and GB tend to leave it to run so that suits us too.

I was with GB Energy George but they went bust in November so I changed over to the next best for me which was e-on. I am similar to Mike, largish house with a GSHP, so I just look for the cheapest unit cost. I pay a larger standing charge but it does not really come into it when you are using 20,00kW/hrs per year.

I am on a 12 month fixed at 10.3p/unit and 63.7 daily charge, so almost identical to Mike. Doubt if you will find anybody cheaper.

You will now be with Co-Op Keith who took over from GB.

I was changing from them anyway as they mailed me to say my rate was going up from 10.5 to 13.6 just before they went bust, so I told them to eff off anyway.
