Just been sent an email advert by Aston Edinburgh/MMC for a Cayman GT4 for £112k  . Absolutely barking - knocking on double list and twice the price of an Exige 350!

I don't get it - well I do, but just don't get HOW inflated the prices go. The previous gen 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (forgive me if I got that title a bit wrong)... is another example of crazy values.

Aren't they circa £250k?

Add £100k.

It's horses for courses. It was a £65k list price limited edition that not only (finally) put a 911 engine amidships but had the GT3 front end ... and a manual gearbox when the 991 GT3 was paddle-only.

I'm not saying it's right that it now changes hands for £40k above list but in a world where a 100+k mile 993 is knocking on the door of £50k and Ferrari 355s are a decade old (read slow by today's hot hatch standards) and £70k it puts it all into context.

I'd still rather have a 'proper' GT3 like a 997.2 3.8 - just to show I'm not biased :)

Correction...

Following a brief PH search, a 355 is now a £100k+ car

Simple, don't even contemplate one.

What a load of crap with a mind set to match, believe it or not there are other makes out there.

Bloody hell. Didn't renmure have one for a while, - I'm sure his posts on it talked about in terms of a third of that.

Yup.

IIRC you could get a dopey one for £35k but £50k bagged a minter at the bottom of the market

I'm not a massive Porsche fan but a mate popped by the house last week in his GT4 and it really was a special looking car. He'd gone a bit mad on the options so it had all the cool bits but it was a joy. His insurance had an agreed value of £105k
