Looks like it could be the end for TVR, unless they can convince the workforce to move to whatever Eastern European country they choose.

Bad news and very sadly I think this may be the beginning of the end for TVR. The brand is already struggling with a terrible quality reputation, so who is going to buy a car from a completely unproven production facility abroad?

No - only the bodies are made in S Africa - all mechanicals sourced and assembled in Leics - with varying results, in my experience - and not sure they've made a profit yet either.....

I know, and obviously, as my username suggests, I have strong feelings about the brand. My point was, that whilst the tradition, history, heritage and sheer character of the things may now go missing, at least they're still going to be built and that, in my book, is always going to be a good thing.

A real shame, but there was a certain sense of inevitability about it.

Here's hoping the character remains, although spare a thought for the workforce. Think 1 or 2 could be enticed North to set up a Lotus dealership?
