Picked the car up this afternoon from MMC... it's got an intermittent fault that only really manifests when it is worked really hard (track or mountain pass).

Ok I get that intermittent faults are difficult to trace but surely, after 7 weeks this time, shouldn't they at least be willing/able to tell me what's been tried?

Apparently the service manager is away but will be back next week - presumably he knows. (Although to be fair when I rang last week no-one was willing to talk to me at all so I suppose it's some progress.)

you'd certainly hope they'd be able to figure that out within a day not 7 weeks.

What on earth have they been doing?

Whats the fault incidentally - surely one of our tech guru's can figure out a range of possible scenarios?

To what extent have you escalated this beyond the service manager?

Sounds odd tbh... I'm picking up my car tomorrow and they have been fantastic the last 4 weeks with either instant or daily feedback on various topics such as:

- annual service recently done
- various warranty work
- impromptu stop enroute to Oulton Park with engine fault (sorted within 1hr)!
- impromptu return stop post Oukton Park following melted brake pads and no AC

Gary and the team have been excellent throughout with regular communication.

I have a funny rattle on start up we've not been able to trace yet, but as with such things replicating the exact circumstances often takes time with intermittent problems.

So thumbs up from me...

Service was good when my car went in last week for a recent issue and all staff we saw were good to deal with.

I've spoken to Pete offline about his experiences and believe me, he's been very very kind with what he's posted about it. I believe he's just trying to get some response from them on a very poor situation that's' been ongoing for longer than 7 weeks overall. However, I also know Pete is off on holiday, so probably won't hear any more on it until his return and (hopefully) a positive resolution has been prompted.

Agree with James on one point though, from personal experience, Gary has been excellent in communicating with us on various Evora niggles since Elaine bought it. From memory, I don't think it was Gary that Pete said he'd been dealing with.

*EDIT* It's not been Gary we've dealt with, it's been Nick. Point stands that comms from him has been good. Albeit I got the name wrong

Consistency is important, certainly. Probably some lessons which can be learned there.

I've no experience of MMC workshop service since Feb 2015, and disappointed to note some of the probs arising.

Equally, good to hear positive experiences continue. The Team Craig+Brandon era is a hard one to follow.

I got caught in the middle of similar last year, but didn't post as it wasn't my car. However, was not impressed at being asked to contact someone I barely know on behalf of MMC having done a bit of legwork for them to find out who that person was in the first place.

The car had a replacement engine fitted by them which has since overheated 3 times, twice on track. They aren't able to replicate the fault and have had it for 10 weeks or so this year. Unable to replicate the fault, they've returned it to me.

I'm not happy, not at any of the individual staff, but at the situation. I mean what am I supposed to do? Pay again?

Suggestions on a postcard.

Have they given you a list of what they have done?

If you drive faster it will get more cooling air through the radiator. :blackeye

Why don't you invite them to my Tracknight next Tuesday and then drive it till it happens again?
