Exige out: Evora in

The Exige was sold midweek and will go into storage for a few weeks before it ultimately makes its way to its new owner in Sweden, who is flying over to driver it home. Sad in many ways to see it go and would dearly have loved the car to have stayed in SE, or at least Scotland. Given it is leaving, a rear end pic seemed appropriate (pic credit to John Stewart).

But like a schoolboy losing a girlfriend in the playground, fear not, I had another to direct my attention to the following day.

Picked it up on Saturday and spent the day giving it a good wash, polish, clean inside then did 100 miles in it. It is a 2+ 2 NA, MY10/11, in ice white with the Sports pack and Tech pack, as well as the forged alloys and a black wrap to roof and side pods. Very different to the Exige S; having to completely change my style of driving. But overall, feeling :D :D :D :D

Great choice, looks fantastic in white.

NA is more that sufficient for the road driving. After getting used to a little more roll you realise its every bit as grippy as the Exige and it can be pressed just as hard.

Enjoy :D

Nice, welcome to the Evora NA club. :thumbsup
I agree with Kinger, the NA is more than adequate for road use.

Wow - really nice looking car - not bad for a 6 year old is it and I still think it looks every bit as good as the 400.

I still love my 2010 NA - had it for around 15/16 months now and it NEVER fails to put a smile on my face whether in the garage looking at it, on the drive washing it, or blasting around some of the beautiful roads we have here in Scotland.

I'm not the worlds best driver but my NA is more than fast enough for every road in Scotland - maybe only the tarmac at Knockhill is where you will wish for a wee bit extra, on the road, you'll keep up with an S no problem.

I've put the 2bular manifolds on mine, attached to the Lotus Sports (blue tip) exhaust and it makes a heck of a difference to the noise and the car seems to pull stronger in the mid-range too. I'd recommend it as a mod though not cheap.

Hope you get many miles of enjoyment out of it. Nice one.

Yup. I got 480 miles of smiles out of mine this weekend, the best of them north of Inverness. An incredible car. Does EVERYthing well.

Sorry Campbell, but it was a red or white one I was after. And sorry too Simon. I had viewed the car the previous weekend as my sale was in process of going through. In negotiating on Thursday they did say there was someone else lined up to view it - must have been you.

The car is in mint condition, the previous owner being a bit of a star of the stage and spending most of the last few years performing all over the world, so only did 800 miles last year and 1k the year before when back in the UK. Whilst hoping for a white car, getting an ice white is a bonus - it's stunning when all polished up. Re exhaust, coming from a 2bular, I'm finding the standard exhaust very quiet. Been reading about it being possible to put a decat pipe in place of the 3rd cat with little impact on emissions. Might do that as an easy start, although appreciate that's just noise rather than performance. It's not going on track anyway.

Also reading about the groans of the Alpine unit, it's actually not that bad once you take time to learn it. I've got the Bluetooth working, my phone contacts downloaded and managed to switch off the annoying voice interruption to the radio from the sat nav if you happen to do 61 in a 60, or 31 in a 30. I've also got electric gates to the drive and an electric garage door so loving the Homelink which again all connected up first time. Programmed the CDL to auto lock on move off also.

All in, a very promising start to Evora ownership.... And I haven't even tried the SPORT button yet. :D

I forgive you, Dickson. Simon doesn't want a blue one either :-/

Decat + Lotus sports exhaust is a fine combo. Mine is set up that way (as are many sold by Murray...Craig developed the upgrade with help from 2bular...I'm sure he'd fix you up).

Push the Sport button soon. An extra 10% added smiles :-)

I also knew someone else was interested but I couldn't have gone to see it any sooner so expected it to go. Hope I wasn't used as a bargaining tool on their side and you got a good deal!

Do you have the same model as this Dixon? I bought this from Lotus to fit in the Honda, but never put it in as I sold the car.

Hi Tut

No, I have an earlier model - the IVA W505R. That one you have is more up to date and was used from MY2013 in the Evora. I've managed to get mine working OK, but know a lot of people don't like the earlier model I have and many can't get the Bluetooth to work so if you don't need it anymore, I think some owners of early Evoras might be interested in buying that if you stuck it on Classifieds, SELOC etc. :thumbsup

Mark - had one of the kids in the back without too much of a problem. With one in the front passenger seat and it pulled forward, there is enough room behind in the rear for the other, although headspace is tight. No chance anyone is going to get in the seat behind me when I'm driving in my usual position though!, so can't see all 4 of us being able to use it other than for the shortest of journeys. :)
