At one point we had 4 cars, a fun car and a commuter each.
I had the Elise and a Punto.
Erica had an MX-5 and an Audi A4.
I was moving Erica's A4 and managed to reverse it into Erica's Mx-5 whilst my 2 cars sat there innocently staring on :blackeye

These things happen a lot..
I bought brand new alloys and tyres for my old Mini.
The wheels were wider, and, like all classic Minis, the car sat low at the front.
Fitted adjustable ride height and new dampers at the same time, took the best part of the weekend.
Car looked and felt great for the 5 mile shakedown run.
Erica then wanted to drive it.
We were heading to my grans not even 1 mile away.
She run the front passenger side wheel along the kerb, all the way around the rim :(

My 2nd car, and first accident. I run into and wrote off a mk5/6 Escort in my VW Jetta.
Replaced the front grill, a headlight, wing, repaired the front bumper. All nicely painted and the next day reversed into a bollard.

I've also managed to reverse the Elise into my bike, and an old office chair laying around the in garage..

Good selection. We currently have an Elise , MX5 and R50 Cooper. I've also driven into various bikes as I have 7 in the garage.

Now back on topic, prior to the MINI we had a Punto Sporting as a shopping trolley. Minda's work car park has a token operated barrier that shuts quickly. She opens door to feed token , starts driving before closing door, somehow hits barrier bollard right on B pillar, comes home , parks up so I can't see, then a couple of hours later says "by the way, I've put a wee scratch in the door, its a bit of dent actually". Totalled. Could I find a yellow FIAT door in scrapies, nope, but bodyshop managed to find alternative and painted.

She was expecting a bollocking which if it had been our Elan at the time would have happened. As it was a shed I said nothing at the time but I still cast it up from time to time, like now by reciting the story :damnfunny :damnfunny

When my mum lived in Texas, she reversed her truck into the red fire hydrant that was on the street near (well, not really that near) her driveway.

The result was one of these towering geysers of water that you see in the movies. The clip of the big water spout, taken by a neighbour, was on Youtube for ages. She only did it once tho

Sadly, I can add to the list of self-inflicted “reversing into stuff” confessions, as I managed to reverse the Elise into a metal pole in a supermarket car park last year. Rewarded for my mistake/stupidity with a 4 month wait for Hethel to supply a new rear diffuser :blackeye

Confession Thread..........

I'm really not an angry person so after the mandatory 'How the F did you manage that with parking sensors?' and she disappeared upstairs for the evening all was well with the world... Like you say only a car, well only a fiberglass clam, easily fixed or replaced, elige time?? who knows lol to be fair it was needing paint anyway due to stone chips, just an excuse to tart her up I guess... :thumbsup

You are letting her off too easily, they will come to expect it and we will all suffer.

Wives need stamping down on for careless acts of that magnitude.

Since we're moving into confessions...

I once called the AA out as the Elise wouldn't start. The AA man then proceeded to tighten up the positive terminal on the battery and send me on my way.. ;)

Doh! ...although I suspect quite a few of us would have missed that too.

I once diagnosed a rumbling and wobble as a wheel bearing.

Transpired that it was loose wheel studs  :blackeye

I thought of another one, this thread isn't going to do me any intelligence favours...

So, I'm a nice guy. A friend of mine was moving from Dundee to Coventry for work with his girl friend. I offered to help, in fact I offered to drive th can with all his stuff in it. We hired a luton van and drove it down with no issues. No issues offloading. No issues driving back until I run out of diesel on the friarton bridge. Managed to roll round the corner and down the hill and called the RAC. Whilst sitting in the van waiting, I realised the van I'd driven 700 miles had 6 gears :blackeye
